You should also mention this for farming teams where you really only need a certain level of effectiveness, when I was a newer player I would just pour effectiveness into my wyvern debuffers not realizing that I had about 40 over the maximum

The visual representation really hammers it home. I find my ruele (178 er) getting debuffed 50/50. This really shines light on why.

Even if the 15% is calculated into stats which we would love to get rid of, it is RNG that will screw you over in some cases.

I run with 210 ER ruele and I can resist 70% of opener in champion arena. My 251 ER Elena gets debuffed 5% of time. And only one time my Elena with Maid + SStaff (Total 291 ER) got hit by a Ftene. Just feel like sharing some info.

if i remember, the formula for hero to land a debuff is : 100% + (your effectiveness) - (enemy's resistance). So basically, landing debuff is much easier than resist the debuff. Correct me if i'm wrong ;)

I love to see some numbers, now here is the thing, I have my Ray with 211 effect resist and always get some debuffs which is super annoying, I am already taking away so much stats on Ray in order to have a decent ER, and there is not point..

Hey Mango! You mention this a little but I think it's worth considering 100-150 ER units just to resist stuff like fceci/krau/senya/liilas provokes, ssb defense breaks, no effectiveness fluris, tsurin debuffs, etc. You're right that it's unlikely to resist real debuffers like cerise/ftene but I think of it as preventing that unit from getting provoke locked (I run my krau on like 120 ER for that reason). Not necessarily disagreeing with you but there definitely is some utility in a middling-ER unit. Definitely agreed though that you should run your cleansers 200+, ideally 250.

Everytime I have a gear with ER on it it simply always rolls ER, all my chestplates with ER are 20% and higher, like wth I dont want ER for this gear but they just give it anyways!

Personally the only hero I needed to invest in ER was SC Montmorancy because there is a rune that requires certain amount of it to do some magic xD... since ER is a useless stat SG should create heroes in the future that benefits from investing in ER (increasing other stats as well, giving additional effects, etc) 🤔

Basically if you want your unit to resist someone that stack Effectiveness, then then 215 % is the minimum, otherwise it's gonna be like crit rate all over again, 100% or 50/50 :))

Don't forget that a unit gets 15% bonus effectiveness if it has elemental advantage. Factor in everything else Mango has said in the video, effres units are always operating at a disadvantage in the current system. The only silver lining is that eff units has innate 15% to worry about (which, granted does make a person mald when they see it) but still, effres needs a buff

Elemental advantage only affects damage and crit chance, it doesn't affect eff

Hey mango, im torn between choosing stene or ruele since i want to jump back into rta, on one hand building stene on Immunity/ LS whilst still having high crit, tanky and attack is looking very difficult, and on other ruele’s revive and heal looks amazing but also building her speedy enough, tanky enough AND high ER sounds like a nightmare.

Other way to see it is w13 has 100% eff res and you only need 85% to land the debuffs. So yes, 120 is pretty low.

I also dont like how I need 100% more ER to resist people’s debuffer..when the gear rolls and set is the same with effectiveness..Hit sets give 20% effectiveness..Resist sets give 20% as well..why do I need 100% more ER to resist?..and in RTA frenzy gives effectiveness..

I will not be able to say anything about your first question except an speculation that ER is used as a counter to the basic debuff feature. Debuff will always be there and you can’t really avoid it in any game, ER is designed to be harder to utilize because you can’t make the basic debuff feature irrelevant. This goes the same way why they added eff in frenzy. In the initial frenzy’s design, no eff is added and made players abuse it by tanking the whole match with high ER healers as well as DCorvus (I’m guilty of this). This made it less fun for many players since the matches took longer than it should’ve been. With the addition of eff in frenzy mode, we see the rise of control comps but is later made less relevant by high er cleansers (reforge and mod gems) and bruisers which we still see today.

damn i got 140 + effectiveness on both my Saint Angelica and flan but i didn't manage to land a debuff on their backrow with Christy and Maid Chloe does that mean that they have effect resistance of 240+ or something hahahahah

120 isn't worthless, it allows you to resist people who don't build eff but might have a bit of random rolls. Can be relevant for knights, to resist F.Ceci and Krau provokes.

Thing with the ring not true since speed > hit for many of those and same with the set so many cerise ftene etc have pretty low hit unless it's all God gear

Game would be so much more fun if all stats (not just four) were on my equipment (and no one else's of course!), and they had a slider to choose the value... 😅 but jokes aside, I've only played since earlier this year, and I've not put in as much time into hunts and crafting as I should have, and yet already I hate equipment'ing with a passion!! Dunno how you vet players deal with it lol. But hey, I shouldn't have expected anything less from a Korean game given their national pasttime is grinding 23 hrs per day in games lol. And maybe it's hard for me, coming from a western MMO game where RNG was just in the loot, not in crafting.

ER is too useless of a stats. If you build too much you will just gain the “chance” to evade Deduff while you still lose a lot of other useful stats like hp def.. Smilegate should do something like the higher your ER the higher your hp or defense or speed. Just link ER to other states to compensate for the disadvantage comparing to Effectiveness

for real, if against debuff teams, if your er char do not have it over 250, then it's completely useless, might as well just have more HP and DEF to tank all those debuffs or use characters like Champ Zerato, ML Lilibeth, they really need to fix this for ER set to work, those little percentages don't help in any cases except if you rolled very lucky on those ER rolls, but that will be like what you pointed out, which is the cost of HP and DEF and resulting these units so easily getting killed
