@@josephjoestar953 Every heating element is different, and that is how you burn rice. I've burned a lot of dishes and I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Rice is difficult because ideally you get your water ratio right AND your heat right and let it sit. It's a golden rule to not check on it and avoid lifting the lid during cooking. But if the heat is too high it is very easy to burn rice. But with that said it's not the end of the world because the rice is still good and you have several Indonesian and Mexican dishes that can be cooked from some of the leftover rice and the burned bits on bottom. 97% of chat doesn't know how to cook, so don't listen to them. Even burned rice can be fucking delicious when repurposed and that's a fact. Edit: It is worth noting that the flavor and texture of the rice will change quite a bit if you burn the bottom of the pan. But the way flavors are imparted and change depend on the quality of rice, your prep, and the cooking technique. I've had absolute garbage burned rice and slightly burned rice that was actually quite nice. If it was good, scrape that pan and make some fried rice for breakfast the next morning. That's the good stuff.

I think whenever she's burnt rice, it's been when she was cooking it in a pot on the gas stove, then got distracted cooking other stuff, arguing with chat, etc, and it boiled dry and burnt a bit on the bottom...I've done it a couple of times too, it can happen pretty easily if you get distracted at the wrong time.
