We take our cheap Focus RS to The Vehicle Tuner for a rolling road dyno test to find out how much horsepower it is kicking out from it's 2.3L Ecoboost engine. Although it has a lot of Mountune modifications, on previous tests it could only manage 0-60 in just under 5 seconds, so does this mean it is running factory standard 345hp or Mountune 375hp?

Put it in “ Dyno mode “ to get a precise reading. The car has it, check how to activate it and measure again.

Great video again boys. I noticed that although the power was just under 350hp, the torque was 510Nm. The standard torque is 470 Nm and Mountune FPM 375 gives it 510Nm.

Great video guys! you could get it remapped? but they only get around 380bhp without changing other things like the intercooler, turbo, and injectors. i reccon 350bhp is enough, just make sure you run it on super unleaded as it will perform at its best. i always use shell v-power nitro+

Must be the fpm 375. 1. It revs at 4500 for launch control. 2. Its 508 tourqe. 3. Its got the fpm375 induction kit. Also my 375 hit the 510 tourqe but was down like yours on bhp. Custom map sorted that out now she flies. Great show lads. Love watchin what you get upto! 👍

you can back the suspension off using the button on the end of the indicator stalk

We keep the suspension in normal mode and turn it straight off if it goes to sport. This whole video was in normal and we were still bouncing around 😂

Mine is being dynoed on the 9th of this month, completely stock but I do have a dreamscience handset so I might spring for stock and a dreamscience map, it will be interesting to see how it compares to yours. I only run mine on Shell Vpower and will continue too, I'm a 50+ year old driving a chav car, filling up in Tesco is only going to make the chavness worse!

Formally Greg F, Yup makes sense for 289whp with the drivetrain loss of 15%. Time for a Cobb AP and a good Protuner not off the shelf map. Then that video and maybe another rolling road dyno session. Really Cheap with that shop!!! YES the RS has a FWD dyno mode. Just look procedure up and have them do that next time to make sure. As soon as you drive off it goes back to AWD. Cheers!

I reckon it is Mountuned, as the standard cars usually run below book power. I think a lot of them dyno at like 320 rather than 345 standard, so near-enough 350 bhp is probably what a 375 is actually running. Love the car though. The colour is just stunning!

Strongly suspect that’s running a stage 1 map, a standard car giving more than stock power would be very surprising given others results.

I agree. It appears to have the Mountune 375 hardware and that is (very slightly) different from what is available from their shop. A good service with a new set of plugs and air filter clean and re-oil might easily pull another 10bhp. I would imagine the inlet valves are pretty coked as well (direct injection issue)

You shouldnt really worry about the figures AT the engine.. that never really matters. when you drive you dont feel 340hp. you feel 280 something as thats what is getting delivered to the wheels. good content though, would love to see this thing tuned up proper with some fuel/boost mods. after old mate gets the new clutch in. big ups from AUS
