Best if you feed the dry matter and hydroponic fodder together. Best to start them with hydroponic fodder since it is lush and palatable. Then let them continue with the dry matter. Do this at every feeding duration.

I really appreciate your hard work. here my question Is not it too much to feed a cow 10 % of its body weight?. I read in some literature it is recommended to feed 2- 3 % of their body weight

There are lots of literature available online and one can only use what works for them. In our case we do not base our calculations on dry matter content, we work with total feed (whether dry or wet) per day per cow. It has worked for us and many other farmers all over Africa. You should try it and relay some feedback to us. Thank you.

The hydroponics fodder is a protein supplement and cannot sustain all the nutritional requirements of the cow. You therefore need the Carbohydrates, Vitamins and Minerals. The answer to your question: You cannot feed cows on hydroponics fodder only

As for me I use to feed my cows with hydroponic fodder everyday, do you say it is not good or advisable to feed them fodder alone without dry matter? What could be the side effects of given cows hydroponic fodder alone?

The cows might bloat due to high moisture content. If the cow is fed alternative feeds as wet matter and a higher quantity of hydroponic fodder than prescribed in the video, then the cows might suffer from bloating.

hello , what if we grow hydroponic fodder and then let it dry for few days in sunlight so it becomes hay this way we ll be feeding 70% ot dry hydroponic fodder and 30% of fresh hydroponic fodder

Please note that the balance of carbohydrates and protein has to be done. Hydroponic fodder is majorly protein, no energy. Therefore your proposal would not be feasible for the livestock
