All I have learned from watching these videos is that nurses in the south are underpaid.
@TequilaMockingBird91

But that’s because the south has a lower cost of living

@@TequilaMockingBird91 lol, say that when there is million dollar homes in Williamson county and a studio in Nashville is 2500 a month. Lol. Cost of living in the suburbs is rising too, and most of the hospitals in middle TN are in metro Nashville

Ah I'm sorry! Honestly being in NJ the cost of living is so expensive, so although we make more we also spend a lot more on rent/bills. I know a lot of people in the North are looking to relocate down south! Even with the pay cut!

@@CaitHawkins it depends where in the south. Metro Nashville is edging on same cost of living as LA and Franklin/Brentwood is worse than downtown (where I live) if I was a single income household I could not afford to ever buy property

Thank you for this video 🙏🏽 I’ve went to nursing school back in 2021 and ended up having to leave the program because it was all online and I learned that I needed an in-person program. I’m currently in the process of finding an ABSN program because that’s what I did before. I’m actually solely interested in becoming an RN because of my passion for the OR so I’m super grateful for you sharing your experience with that. Thank you again!

This was great. I'm in currently in nursing school with plans to go to the OR. I was a scrub tech in the past and I loved the specialty.

It's true that job hopping every couple years or so will increase your pay over time. As long as you're pursuing advancements in your career, you'll be fine and won't raise red flags to employers.

Super interesting! I just got into a nursing program starting in January and I always am curious about the pay after graduating. Right now the program is kinda expensive so I hope to be able get the money back when I get my first nursing job. I think everyone would benefit from talking openly about their pay with coworkers so I appreciate this kind of video

Did you compare salaries with other fellow nurses at the hospital where you were working?
@CaitHawkins
@CaitHawkins 4 ай бұрын
This is something that we should be open about but I find that some people aren't so open with sharing salaries. I just know that before I accept a job I will always go on salary websites to see a ballpark of what I should be making at their facility. This is helpful and also never take a pay cut.

hi! I'm a sophmore planning to be BSN-RN one day. How many years does it take to be RN? I'm kinda scared about going to college. To be honest, i have no clue how to get in to college. I've been researching about community colleges here in California but i'm confused🥲 one more thing, how do you apply in hospitals after you become RN?
@m3rcury375
@m3rcury375 3 ай бұрын
depends! if you do your ASN (associates in science in nursing) then you can become a registered nurse in 2 years. If you go for BSN (bachelor in science in nursing) then it requires 4 years. Im currently studying in a university to get my BSN so that I can go for a higher specialty. it all depends on what route you wanna go for :)

@@m3rcury375 I always go for the better one. However, it still depends on my financial situation in college. I might take the route of finishing ASN then look for a part-time job with the degree I have then save up and continue and finish BSN.

Hi, although I dont want to give an exact # as I'm currently in my job, I make over $100,000 being full time. I switched to part time a bit ago, so I make a bit less now at that job.

Money is the worst reason to become a nurse. It is a very hard job to be a good nurse actually caring for the patient! Believe me I know this as a 40 year nurse and a patient.
@21Pogon
@21Pogon Ай бұрын
Perhaps. I like what I do and care about the patients, but money was the first and main reason why I went in and why I do it. I used to make 4-6K a month before nursing working less hard but more hours, with nursing I can make far more than I did for those hours I put in. Each to their own, but I am fine with the job (it is like any other out there) but getting paid well is a priority.
