Wow. That's incredibly expensive :O I used to teach in Mexico and earn around $500 a month and lived super well on that, including travels. While backpacking is more expensive (hostels, airbnb-s, etc), I would say $1000 would be the very max for Mexico. I have been a traveler my entire life, nomadic for over 10 years, now more of a part-time nomad (have a fixed apartment I rent w/ my husband - where I am stuck for covid - and go for longer and shorter trips anywhere from a few weeks to 3 months at a time) - and never in my life spent that much on traveling, except when in Europe. I have no idea what you must be spending money on to spend 2000 for one person...

Most Tulum prices are the same price as England so it's more comparable to travelling there than Mexico itself

So here are some major questions. Do you see yourself buying a house in Mexico? Or the UK? Tulum is pretty gosh darn expensive. Do you see yourself going to some more cheaper places in Mexico to live? Now I’m not talking where you put yourself in jeopardy of course. I tottttttally understand each person are different BUT for people with less budget: Its super possible to live (a comfortable) life with less here in Mexico: in Tulum about 500£ you can live VERY well just have to search a lot accomodation and other parts of Mexico (unless Baja California and Tulum) you can live even better!!!!!!
