Yes... If you want it to run like poo. You can't just put an LS in and call it a day. If you add too much power into something with low power you have to change everything. IE: New transmission, mounts, welds, wirings, clutch, etc...

15K seems like a lot, but it was spent over time. It’s not like it was all purchased at once. Plus, a project car is a investment to a enthusiast. Also, to note your Miata is clean and done correctly. 15K is actually quite reasonable. Love the build bud! 🍻

I really like your content end attention to detail! What I would recomend for your miata are polyurethane bushings for the control arms. It really makes a difference on a miata. Also, instead of bride seats you can check out sparco sprint seats, they are way cheaper and fit the car perfectly. Greetings from Germany!

15k is quite a bit of money but as you said, it's your baby and worth every penny. They're great cars and amazing in track. Maybe you could turn the old rx7 seats into office chairs somehow. 80s Jdm seats are so comfortable. My dad once had an 89 Supra turbo which had some of the most comfortable and supportive seats I've ever been in.

one thing to consider about the new engine is, because you are putting a more horsepower engine and I supose it's turbo, you can consider use a booster for track day and also slick tires to handle the power on the track, and use low boost for daily to still use the tyres you actually use. (sorry for the bad english, i'm brasilian)

I'm picked up my '99 for $4k, but it was mechanically perfect & cosmetically 90% perfect. Added a hardtop, Xida coilovers, new exhaust, Advanti Storm S2 15x9's, paint is 90%. I upgraded the radiator & installed new brakes and stereo as well. $6800 invested so far. Basically, just needs a roll bar & some seat upholstery. I should be well under $10k when I'm done. Very happy with it so far.

It's a neat car. The reason I like it so much is it still looks fairly stock, you haven't gone crazy with the mods. I plan to do the same and am just about to start my project with a Silver 2001 NB, which is bog standard, low kms great paint and interior. Has cost me $8,000 Australia so far. Plans are Garrett turbo, new injectors, brakes coil overs, alloy radiator ect. ect. Am lucky have a mate that races a 2000 NB and 1998 NB. Both cars put out about 300-320 HP. I will be happy if I get 200 HP out of mine. I still want it to look almost standard and not over customised.
