Personally I wouldn't disclose how much my machines make if I ran an arcade myself. There are somethings that should NOT be disclosed to the public. Whilst I appreciate your honesty. Not everyone is honest and people have motives. Be careful.
@etamusements27 күн бұрын
100%, we are careful and this isn’t exact but a good rough estimate as anyone can look online and get a rough idea as to what an arcade business can make. However, we don’t focus our channel on collections and totals really anymore. We try and just focus on life together self employed😁.

Great video! Now what about taxes? Do you pay them comission on total sales before taking taxes and product costs? Or do you pay them on total after those are taken out? We just placed our first mini claw machine by the way! Hoping to place our other one tomorrow😃. Have a good one!
@etamusements Жыл бұрын
Thank you very much, we appreciate it!! Congratulations on placing your first mini claw, that’s so awesome to hear😄👊🏼. To sum it up, we didn’t have to pay taxes. 2 reasons, one since there is two of us splitting our earnings we each didn’t “make enough” to pay taxes and this is bc secondly, everything we made we put back into the business. We never took an income or paid ourselves enough. We know everyone has a different situation, but since we still live at home we were able to through all our profit back into buying new machines and expanding. Good question about paying taxes before or after commission to the owner. This is something we are going to have to figure out with a cpa this year!

@@etamusements I know this is a year old but I just wanna say, as a business you definitely still need to *file* your taxes even if you don't owe anything. Like you need to be reporting all income and expenses as a business, so that the IRS can be the one to determine if you owe anything or not... You can't just not file taxes as a business, even if you aren't claiming any income... But as for the question about paying taxes before or after commission to the owner. You'd pay taxes on your actual business income. Since the revenue of the machines is being split, you wouldn't pay taxes on the whole thing, just your portion. So you would pay taxes on your 70% and the business owner *should* be paying taxes on their 30%. But I know a lot of these cash businesses just... don't report anything to the IRS, because it's all "small" cash transactions... but it's a good way to get in a lot of trouble with the IRS. You absolutely should be *filing* taxes every year, and reporting your income/expenses, even if it's little to nothing, and even if it's all just cash. (especially if it's all just cash).

May I suggest a mobile truck or trailer arcade? Then you save yourselves 90% of the setup and tear down time on events.
@etamusements Жыл бұрын
That’s a great idea! We’ve actually looked into that and found one we wanted to buy. We toured it, but we really laid out the pros and cons. It was a very very large investment for something we wouldn’t be able to get full use out of. We didn’t want the carnie lifestyle of being at events 24/7 working it and being around that crowd. It’s a great idea to do at local family fun events, but not something we wanted to fully pursue!

Doing well, I got out and I had ice cream shops locations 12 total, and they wanted 50 percent.😮 Sorry, opening up an ice cream shop and became a competitor. It's slow in the winters, but in the summertime $20,000 in sales just one weekend.

Theoretically, no. We paid for the spot, but then we didn’t have to pay commission until we made the money back from the spot.

do you guys not have any credit card readers on your change machine i would have to look but i’ve seen a change machine with slots for a dba and credit card reader
@etamusements Жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to put a card reader on a change machine. Either way, we would be loosing money as we would have to pay cc fees. In my opinion, the only way to take card would be to have a card reader on every single machine, use tokens, or have a kiosk for game cards.
