@@veduci22 classic “down with the big banks” hate spewing that blinds itself to what their actual purpose is. They mitigate risks their clients face, i.e. corporations. So say a Company just borrowed a shit ton of money at a floating rate of interest, which is the same idea as an adjustable rate mortgage. Now, say the Company is nervous about rates shooting through the roof and their interest expenses skyrocketing. The Bank can sell you products which mitigate the potential damaging. A interest rate cap or a swap for example would help with this. It’s a separate service than writing the loan. It gets more and more complex from there but you get the idea.

The minimum wage in Switzerland is, 23CHF, equivalent to £20. Already that is like double the minimum wage of people in the UK. I’m pretty sure some bankers over here will pull in £100k-£150k salary which will be equivalent to what’s being made in Switzerland. Don’t get me wrong tho only the experienced bankers on big bonuses and commissions.

I think people forget that life as a banker is miserable. You got no time for yourself. Sure you get 100k first year. But the stress, anxiety, commitments is just not worth it. You get no breaks and a lot of people just quit after 3 years coz there is no life work balance

in fact its not as expensive as they say, minimum wage is 20/h and thats like a pizza deliveryguy wage, for retail or service its 23-25 min. thats 4.2k a month and you can cover all your bills with 2k comfortably. now you can easily make more money based on the field and where you work. i make 90k as a lifeguard at the pool as a start, thats 6.5k a month and all you need is a course that costs 1.2k. but only if you work for the city they pay very well and have great pension plans.

Don't listen to that BS. There is really only VERY small fraction of Swiss banks employees who make that kind of money. Vast majority of people (i guess around 80%) will have 100-150k a year. This is still a decent salary even for Switzerland but nothing fancy since costs of living are very high as well.

Working in banking generally isn’t gonna make you 100-400k, to make that there are certain branches of banking - financial analyst, portfolio manager, those kinds of positions. If you are a bank clerk or deal with loan applications you’re not making anywhere near even 100k

@@mariano1018 most of these "bankers" are traders or they repackage shit and sell it on. The money is made with fees for those for example. There is not that much money to be made in just giving out loans itself. And saving cost, yeah in a sense. More like protecting against losses with swaps etc i would say. So minimize risk exposure on trades or credit. Defaults etc Saving costs and efficiency is more what you do in the real economy in a company when you are evaluating processes etc. These kinds of wages arent earned doing "normal banking". Thats some shady and shoving onto ppl shit. If even real. There are lots of different business models in banking. I work for a central bank

In Poland many people took swiss mortgages like 15-10 years ago, and now because of currencies change between pln chf, pln weakened the amount of money to pay to banks doubled/tripled and many people lost their homes or defaulted. It's very taboo topic in Poland. Adult people took responsibilities and thought they were the smartest people alive when the pln was stronger, but then when the cards reversed they don't want to meet with those results and scream for bailouts from goverment...

I have been in tech for over 25+ years in various industries. You make good money from the start in tech, you can make more in finance in the long run. However I love my tech savvy skills to financially engineer my success in finance. The best finance course is learned on your own.

40hr regular work hours, but then we add another 20 to 30 hrs in non paid networking events having drinks, dinners and sleeping with a client or two. All in the name of our monthly bonus. Its awesome! We lose our souls, friends and family though. Oh well!
