I kinda miss the days when youtube first launched and people just made videos just to make videos and there was no monetizing. Too many people starting channels these days just for the money.

+GirlsLiftToo When I had my first channel KZbin would email you directly to monetize a video if it performed well. If you wanted the ability to monetize yourself you had to apply to be a partner and in most cases, people got turned down and had to wait several months to reapply. I think it was more efficient that way as it made people work harder. However in the end, KZbin is a business and the more ads that are running on channels, the more money they make from it.

It definitely was better that way.I impatiently waited a month for them to accept me into the program with my first channel. Yes you are right at the end of the day KZbin is a business. It just sucks so many new channels that the community is so saturated, no individuality, no creativity...no nothing with a lot of new channels. 😐

It'd be interesting since you're one of the few that doesn't do the extras to make it a full time thing if you broke down roughly how much time you put into making that money. Average out roughly how much typical adsense + sponsorships comes out to per hour

+ChelseaLifts These days it's absurdly high as I spend a max of 1-2 hours a week doing "youtube stuff" (editing/uploading). Since I mostly just film training I don't consider that part of the job. I've also streamlined my other filming pieces and editing to be really efficient. For example this video took roughly 60-90 min from conception to filming, editing, uploading and publishing.

Good video mate. One of the few "how much do youtubers get" videos that just explains the truth of the matter, straight up, with no ranting and very well presented. This was the 4th vid I clicked on to try and find out how much utubers earn, and the only one with (a) the truth and (b) no waffling or ranting ... just like any camera there are pros can cons, the picture on this is pretty sharp, but it's still a crop APS-C sensor with hardly any good native mount lenses.

First of thanks for the honesty and transparency of your youtube earnings because sadly a very VERY small fraction of youtubers covers this topic and your the realest MVP by far explaining this in details. Second: Does the like button and comment section have ANY impact on the ammount of daily earnings you make per video or are they more for "getting people envolved with your channel" bonding tools? I don't believe they do directly, but if a video has more likes/comments I believe it is more likely to turn up in searches and recommended videos, which in turn can generate more views.
