As long as you use it a lot and get enjoyment out it, it’s worth every penny and more in my opinion, I enjoy sim racing so much, I just look at it as a necessity at this point

This is why i went from a t300 playseat combo to a aluminum rig and a sc2 pro. An investment for sure but after a full year with the t300 i knew this wasn’t for a few months. Saved me a lot in the end.

I ran a G920 for years (purchased for £179.99 in 2016, sold for £155 in 2023 ha). Purchased the cheapest DD Moza wheel and loadcell Thrustmaster pedals in 2022/23 (~£600-700) and tbh couldn't be happier with what I have. I've always had high end desktop PC's for other reasons but for the sim hardware you don't have to go mad. Edit, My 'rig' is a office chair with the castors locked up and a desk...

Thanks for the vid. I’m in the middle of putting my setup together right now…and trying to catch you in total $$$ evidently! I dabbled a few years ago with iRacing for a few weeks, but now I’m am diving in deep with the “buy once, cry once” approach so I don’t spend more in the long run. Started putting the new pc together tonight…7950x3d with a 4090. My Simtrecs pedals ship Monday, just ordered a GSI Hyper P1 wheel to go with the Asetek Invicta base I’m waiting for as well. Putting all that on a ASR6 chassis with triples. I’ve been saving money for more than a year and pretty much spending it all in a month. Feels great and terrible all at the same time 😅 Hope to see you in a 24hr race sometime…

I had a Logitech wheel once, and a Playseat that took half of my room. I sold both after a short time. I'm racing with the NAMCO Negcon via USB adaptor. Only iRacing was expensive in the first two years. I'm only racing ovals and I am in Division 2.

Let's see, T150 Pro: 300, Playseat challenge: 200, TLCM: 200, CSL DD 8nm: 550, BMW CSL: 170, TR80: 450, NRG Seat: 350. Plus probably 400ish on iRacing. So roughly 2520ish dollary doos. Which honestly I'm usually gotten everything on sale, except the Fanatec stuff. I'd probably spend the same amount on playing golf if I got back into it.

Went from Obutto Ozone with T300 straight to Simucube2/HE/P1. Skipped the mid tier and waited a little longer to save money. No ragrets and I didn't need to cope with knowing there is better equipment around.

It's easy done, I divide my maths up differently as I'm a techie so would have a decent PC anyway, so I like to pretend that cost isn't part of my simracing. And if you ever want to feel better about yourself, I checked my ebuyer purchase history once and oh my days, I'd probably be driving a real M4 if I never got into computers.

Soon adds up mate, but sim racing gear holds its money maybe worth pointing out what the resale value was and maybe deduct that from the 15 grand total, but I guess you need a backup for most of your stuff so I don't expect you have sold much of it. Good video though and its so nice to get new kit whatever it is and for what ever hobby.

My current setup is £10,500 but over the years I have brought 2 VRS DFP, a DD2, a CSL DD and a SC2 Pro along with various pedals not also including monotors rigs etc, I think I am easily 20k+ deep, just on hardware! Therefore the video is how much you would have spent... not how much you have spent... Your actual spend is a fair bit less is it not.
