Best advice, buy and forget. I purchase my 36k ETFs (satrix world and emerging markets) at beginning of financial year, and then dont check again until the next year pretty much.

@@noorieg3598 there is a monthly fee if you don't hit certain targets. It's their "Thrive" loyalty program that everyone is added to and you can't opt out is my understanding. You need to hit "level 3" to not pay a monthly fee. This can be achieved by maxing your TFSA for the year or by depositing more than you withdraw

Hi Pieter, thanks for the channel. Good work. Quick one, I see on the statement their is annualized returns % since inception. I presume that is self explanatory and indicates your annual compounded return expressed as a % since you as the investor started investing with EEs . Your total portfolios annual return, example 13% annualized = 13% return year on year since you were invested in that fund/etf or portfolio of finds. I see it also says cumulative return .

I started investing right at the hype of the market in late 2021 on IBKR, so I am still recouping some of those losses, but I try to buy in as and when I can to try and lower the average purchase price. Yes, the Irish domiciled ETFs do not have any situs tax applicable, which could be a game changer of you die with a large estate :)

My plan was to also buy into VWRA, however, the stock price is currently way up at the top. I am thinking a long term plan making use of a EM China ETF would be great but I don't know if any exist on IBKR that are also Irish domiciled ETFs - any thoughts? Cheers! G

Hey Gary. Well done on paying off your home loan! And congrats on your almost retirement. :) It's difficult to say, as one would need to look at your entire financial situation to be able to tell. If you need that money in retirement, then shares would be too risky as they are very volatile. It would be better to look at something like bonds. It depends on many factors, especially the investment time horizon

Over the past 5-10 years, I've saved up quite a lot of cash that's just been sitting in my savings account. Now that I have an RA and am about to open a TFSA and Moneymarket investment for my emergency fund, where do I put the rest? Hey, I max out my TFSA on ETFs but still have some money to burn. I see i can basically buy the same ETFs in my USD account that i can buy in my ZAR account like S&P500 or MSCI world etc. On which account should I buy these ETFs and why? Or should it be some % split. Another example is i can buy a eurostoxx50 on my GBP account but can also buy the sygnia on ZAR account. Thank!
