I think I'm an outlier. My very first video (7years ago) has 376k views. I have only posted, maybe 20 more throughout the years. Just recently decided to be more consistent with uploads. If you have something of value to share and stay within your niche, you will be successful. Thank you for sharing your travels and life experiences!Subscribing now!

I have a similar experience being monetized a year ago. I can give you a great tip, do not allow automatic mid roll placement of ads, they don't show them lol. I manually select 5 or 6 points myself. This trick nearly doubled my income per view, I was surprised at the impact it had. Worth a few minutes after making the video. We became resident in Bulgaria last year so started a you tube channel, on the tourist area where we are but trying doing living here ones on another channel in winter. My niche is great for us, over 45k hours so far. Keep it up , watch the best people to learn how to improve, each video should be a tiny bit better than before.

Thanks so much for sharing that tip about the mid roll ads. We'll give it a try. Where do you live in Bulgaria? We spent a couple of months there last year, mainly in Plovdiv, and loved it!

@@Twocantravel we were in Plovdiv January great city. We live on the coast, overlooking Sunny Beach, about half hour from Burgas. I cover the resort area on you tube, and we met literally hundreds of our viewers through the season an unusual experience when being spotted soon as we move about. The cost of living is far less than UK, we could retire early. It's back in time, no wokeness and has the society and values more akin to my upbringing. The food and lifestyle are amazing.

@@Twocantravel Yes I've upgraded to five or six channels now. I'm learning to niche out my content to different channels. Rather than lump them all on one channel. As you can see I have over 500 videos on JoAnne's Inspirations, and just over 500 subscribers. So it's a little crazy. I'm always super stoked when I find somebody like yourselves who only have 48 videos and have already been monetized! I find that to be amazing. :-)

Thank you :) We feel very lucky that some of our content hit the algorithm early and we were able to reach the 4,000 required watch hours. Getting to 1,000 subscribers took longer. It seems to be a different journey for everyone! Niching down your content is a good idea so people know what to expect from your channel. That said, it's great that you have such varied interests and knowledge to share about. It seems that your review and demonstration videos get a lot of views, so that might be a good direction to continue in. One thing that helps us gain subscribers is to ask people to subscribe early in the video after introducing ourselves, or to put graphics prompting them to subscribe throughout the video. We just subscribed to your channel!

Hi there! Absolutely love your channel and some videos about Bulgaria were very helpful for me when I planned my trip there so thanks for that ❤ If you’d like to have another bang-buster video and hit lots of views, consider planing a future trip to Israel (once things calm down). Israel videos are ALWAYS drawing lots of viewers due to controversy, religious and overall un-proportional interest. Keep in mind that Israel is also incredibly expensive. Love you guys and rock on!

So you are aware the KZbin Algorithm put you on my radar from the home page. I am retired (living comfortably financially) in Michigan, USA. I often want to know about finances (working on a trading company startup). Also, I want to start traveling next year and have gone as far as to research some other countries to possibly relocate. The video that brought me to you was the one about 12 reasons why you were not returning to the USA. Great video by the way. I like the clean editing and educational base of the two videos I have watched so far. I did subscribe but noticed that a new video hasn't gone up in 8 months. Are you still actively pursuing this? Also, I was wondering if you have ever considered picking the best spots in the country you are presently living, strapping a camera to your hip and just recording an Experience/ASMR video of the walk. Many people watch these for the experience of being somewhere they may never go.
@Twocantravel
@Twocantravel 28 күн бұрын
Thanks very much for your kind comment and for subscribing :) Congratulations on your retirement! We are still actively working on our business and will post on KZbin again soon. That's a nice idea about the walking videos. We've thought about that and wondered how people film those videos while keeping the camera steady. Something to look into. What countries have you been considering relocating to? We're happy to assist with any info if we can.

There is a lot you cannot control. I've watched two of your videos today (~34 mins) after the first appeared on my 'feed' earlier this morning.. but I'm on a desktop PC thus adverts do not show (thus you adsense revenue I gather will be zero). Sure I could watch on my android phone (it'll get adverts for sure, but tiny screen & lousy audio), or watch on a samsung view device (much larger screen but still poor audio), so I watch on a desktop PC that allows me to select which screen is used with audio I fully control; and it does that without adverts.

@@Twocantravel we are heading back to Albania first, then to Montenegro and then to Macdeonia. After that, not sure at this point. We are trying to organize some stuff for the first year. There is probably a way better way than using air bnb, renting locally, but at this point we are just trying to reduce some uncertainty, it's a big enough change for us as is.

@@JayandSarah Amazing! We totally get that. There's a lot to be said for creating some level of stability and ease when so many things will be new and unknown. Both are places we'd love to go!

We both speak multiple languages and I used to be a tech school teacher. We also ran youth volunteer chapter of the United States Sea Cadets. We're noobs and have no idea on starting work online. Thank you and we'll keep following your Channel, ours will come live in April of 2025. We'll be spending 1 month in each city, starting with Northeast Brazil, then doing a U shape around South America. Our goal is not for income(although we won't turn it down 😆), but to leave a legacy for our (eventual) grandchildren. We're thinking of 4 a month in each city with 1-travel, first impressions, and Apt tour. 2-city tour 3-Daily Expat life, and 4-Pros and Cons, months Cost. What do you think? Does it make sense to you in your experience? 😊 Thanks and keep your videos coming. Rafael & April

Hi! I just found your channel today. I watched the video about why you prefer not to live in the US again first and I appreciate your points. I lived in Mexico for a short time when I was attending a university to do language study and I really wanted to stay. If I had been old enough to legally make my own decisions, I wouldn't have come home at that time. But that aside, I noticed in that video that you mentioned that you only have about 100 pounds of personal belongings. That is mind blowing to me, but helpful. I'm in my mid-50's and divorcing and preparing to move. I'm a deeply spiritual person so I have tons of things like Buddha figures, candle holders, etc., not to mention that "normal" stuff that most other Americans have. One of the biggies is clothing. I ride the struggle bus on this issue. I lived here most of my life so I forget things I learned in the other countries when i was younger. Would you mind telling me how many pairs of shoes/boots, and then the different items of clothing that you keep? I've got to pair down and just go in stupid circles, and get really annoyed with myself, which seems ridiculous. I have high functioning autism, which probably complicates this process for me. I appreciate your time in responding.
@Twocantravel
@Twocantravel 7 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment. We do like living with few things. We often cycle through clothes based on the season and donate what we don't need. We also try to shop second hand for new clothes as needed. We've found that you can usually find what you need anywhere. We both have a pair of sandals, a pair of every day walking around shoes, and a pair of shoes we can hike/workout in. If we have events to attend then we'll get a "nicer" pair of shoes. So we usually have about 3-4 pairs of shoes with us. I hope that's helpful. We're definitely not expert packers, but that's what we do.

Love the energy! When I first started my channel in 2014, my goal was not monetization (I really knew nothing about that) but was just to document our adventure for family and friends back home. I attained monetization requirements in 2016 and since that time, my goal was never about the money because now that I'm in my late 60's, it's more about keeping my mind active and staying busy. Now (some 360 videos later) I just look to break even and have some fun with a job (hobby) I really don't need to show up for if I don't want to! 🤣🌴😎
