Wait, i have questions. Isnt that the freemium one already have In app purchase for ads remove? Why do you make premium edition for ads removed? I read that IAP ads remove is better than premium in separate app due to pirate issue. Also, thanks for sharing your marketing strategy and your experience as well. No wonder you change title from Endurance into Endurance : space shooting RPG game which is much better ASO for exposure. Also, do you plan to make 3D game in future? I visit your website portfolio and i can tell you have a lot experience in 3D model and animation.

Wow! This is just inspiring me to work harder on completing my Unity indie 2D game. Thanks for sharing! It's hard being an independent indie game developer and especially hard trying to get your first game out. I really want to make game dev what brings the bread home and I've been programming for 27 years but have never published a completed game on the Internet. It's usually a working game engine but nothing much more. Do you have any advice that helps accomplish the game? For instance, a template or cookie-cutter plan on how you laid things out to develop? Did you focus on 1 core task until it was done before switching or did you plan out your work and jump from 1 thing to another until those classes/modules were completed?

Great video like ever. But I think that for living from developing games you have to have one of this: Like $10000 to advertise your game. A youtube channel. Be lucky. If you don’t have one of this it is very probably that your game have less than 1000 downloads and win a single dollar will be a big challenge
@miniyeti88
@miniyeti88 4 жыл бұрын
I made two games, using same marketing strategy for both, spent around 2500-3000 on Marketing and both games were featured couple times on the stores and it happened no because of luck, but because of my actions. KZbin channel doesn't really help my game, but it helps get some more revenue. I also thought it was luck that my first game was featured, but with the second one I proved its not luck. Its a hard work and dedication. So it will be the same with 3rd, 4th and so on.

I started making games about the same time as you and I felt like coming into game development with no art skills is a huge disadvantage. Coming from a programmer background, I can make game mechanics and, in my opinion, good game design, however my games always look like trash and I end up paying a freelance artist and the games never look like I imagine them... What's your advice? How can I work better with artists to get my vision correctly
@miniyeti88
@miniyeti88 4 жыл бұрын
You need to make moodboards for those artists you hire , so they know what kind of feeling you re putting into the game. Find examples of the images or even videos from existing games and send it to them before they start drawing

@adam2O
@adam2O 3 жыл бұрын
Start small. Download a game engine, either Unity or Unreal Engine, both free. Search youtube for tutorials of what you want to create. I'm using Unreal engine right now because I don't know how to code that well. It has blueprints, which is visual scripting. I think Unity does have some sort of visual scripting, but it's paid. Don't spend any money on assets or anything until you are confident enough to create something worthwhile. Google is your best friend on any questions you have in game developing.
