How much should you spend to get a professional French horn? A look at the Lewis-Dürk LDx5 "Rhenish"

I've been at the local shop yesterday, and got to have an hour with a Lidl 860, Hoyer 801 and Hoyer 6801. I absolutely loved the sound I was producing on the 6801, and it also gave me much better control of the dynamics. So hi, it's me, I am the market for Kruspe style horns. :) The other two were fine instruments too, though, the Hoyer with slightly better quality of the valves. I ended up walking out with the Lidl, as it was the only one they had a rental program for.

Hard to tell streaming to a tablet, but in the comparison, the Rhenish sounds more like a CSO horn, like a good Geyer or Schmidt, or, uh, Lewis. 😊
