One thing to also consider when tipping: Ask the employee if they get to KEEP their tip.You will be amazed at the vast number of places that require them to share it with other workers,or the owner automatically receives a cut, regardless if you pay cash or via credit card- that makes a difference as well . Credit card tips are automatically split with the owner in many places. And believe it or not, many of your HIGH END establishments have policies that suck on how much they get to actually keep. When hiring, they inform the prospective worker of their " how much 💵you get to keep policies." People need to work,so they just deal with it. Lastly....Attitude/service makes all the difference.Deal with the employee that you personally encounter. Too many other things behind the scenes- they're not responsible for. But if they want to do an excellent, effective job, they will keep you informed of any issues. That's great service ‼️

I always feel obligated to tip 20% unless they’re horrible.

I used to feel that way but the service needs to be there

I always tip 20% unless I didn't like the service but I'm a generous tipper. You have to do a lot wrong to make me tip less than 20%

I had a friend who use to say I didn't tell them to get this job and he wouldn't tip at all.

Damn that's cold-blooded lol. I always tip generously. I think especially outside of traditional tipping jobs employers should pay their employees better.

@@PlayBook_FL Yeah that would be nice but I guess the incentive to be nice to customers is they need the money.

Tipping is outdated. Give a server a regular wage and cut out the low pay formula that is offset by tips. In In some countries its offensive to tip
