Started working 3 years ago and I’ve been spending very conservatively saving as much as I can while I’m still staying at home with even with my estimated salary increase I would have to put down a deposit of R650 000 to qualify for a R1 million place (that’s a two bedroom apartment at best) Meaning i would have to save about R130k every year for the next five years. That’s R10800 every month. A mind blowing 72% of my current salary. As a young person I can honestly say to say the future looks bleak is an understatement.

@robbylebotha8 күн бұрын
Various reasons. 1. They but vehicles under company. 2. They are in their 3rd or more vehicle trade in so they are paying less on the car. 3. There over 60 million people in SA, if 10 percent are rich, that’s 6 million people, therefore the that’s a lot of people you are seeing with expensive cars. 4. They work for dealerships or companies and those are company cars. 5. Many companies have vehicle allowance. One company I know offer mandatory R16,000 vehicle allowance that you must use on a vehicle for yourself. 6. They a married and with combined salary they can afford one expensive car and one basic car. After 5 years they buy another expensive car now they have 2 expensive cars. And let me plug you if ever you somehow get a million or more rands. Look into “garunteed monthly income investments”, offered by ABSA or FNB. Before going to buy Gucci to heal from poverty trauma. 😊
