How Much Vintage Toys Do You Get From 185cm Of Online Auction Packages???

Not every day I get to unpack 185 cm of toys. Lots of fun little things in this and I get to complete my Airfix brown box collection.

I love seeing you collect old toys. I am an Airfix Collector myself. My collecting bug started in the 1990s when I visited a Model shop in Leeds, England. The owner was selling old Airfix Stock (Blue Edged Box HO/OO Scale Soldiers from the 1960s) for £1.00 apiece. The flood of nostalgia was overwhelming. I bought the lot. Getting the Tea Chest home on the train was another story. Since then I have steadily increased my collection. Why? I have no idea. A word of warning... Addictive!

Great story. One of those finds you dream of. I didn´t start collecting until about 2001-2002 when I discovered Ebay. For some reason the first thing I searched for was Airfix. Then I was hooked.

Great haul! That box of civilians is lovely. They were a fun set, if you were a kid - there's a Policeman, a Postman, a newspaperboy, if I remember, and, best of all, a bloke on a Lambretta scooter. The figure company, Hät made a set of ancient Assyrians, in 'OO' scale, and sold them in a beautiful facsimile reproduction of an Airfix 'Red Stripe' box. Classic art, layout, and window. If you like Matchbox Super Kings, then keep an eye out for the jewel in the crown - the Bridge Builder set. It's huge, and it works. My kid brother has his, still in it's box. He drove mum and dad mad after he saw it in a catalogue, and it was quite elusive - I think dad found one many miles from home on a work trip and my brother had it as a birthday present. It's one of his most treasured possessions. If you find one for a reasonable price, get it. It's a superb thing.

I saw those Hät just a few weeks ago on Ebay. Big surpise that they had just kinda copied the old Airfix boxes. Very cool box. I will have to keep an eye out for that Matchbox set. Sounds awesome.

I remember in my childhood in a 4 or 5 floor of a big store in France, a toys floor area around chrismas and "à part" in a piece been all alone with an entire wall of airfix models 1/32 and 1/72 (favorites) fascinating by the box art, rare ones like Tarzan and Chapparal, touch and see all the boxes in a semi levitation ... finally my mother find me "where are you ? the store is closed!" ... it was the begining of a boardgamegeeker

Sometimes it feels like they are with me when I stumble on something cool that had the wrong description because the seller had no clue, but turns out to be a gem. Sometimes I feel they are so against me when I loose out on an item I realy want.

@@Uncle_Neil That´s some collection. I love the Matchbox figures and have all the 1/32 and 1/76. Did videos on all the 1/32 sets they made and also the 1/32 Counter Attack playset. Super fun stuff.

the 1/32 Airfix figure sets with the COLOURED ends (as per your US Paras) ie not the black ends....are the hardest to find it seems

One thing, for Airfix 1/32 British Infantry....not commandos, not 8th Army, not paratroops, when did the just plain British Infantry soldiers appear? There does not seem to be a "target" box 0f 29 guys, but rather a small box of 14 somewhat later (1986??) Thank you for your time!

I use a ultrasonic cleaner with the same cleaning solution I use for pretty much everything. Takes about 5 minutes and then you can just brush of the paint and they look like new. There`s other ways to if you check KZbin. I just had the ultrasonic cleaner so I used that.
