Hey I love that you provided this useful information. I have a question with the wax calculation, Is the wax formula Net wt / (100% + 6%) because this will give us 198 grams or is it Net wt / 100% + 6% because the result will be 209.88 grams but that's not what you got. Is your demonstration more of a visual break down of how you determine how much of what to use or is your method of Net Wt / 100% + FL% supposed to be actually followed like a normal math problem? I just want to make sure that I'm measuring correctly.

I contacted the Copan I bought my oils from and they told me my net weight is 30ml ... and that's amount of ml I have on the bottle.. but Is that correct bc the math is all wrong on my end. I don’t understand what a fragrance oil percentage is or how to find it, can you help me? Like how people decide on 6% or 8% etc and how they get there. Why did they decide on that percentage and how do they find it. It comfuses me a lot is all. Also I love your videos!

It’s the percentage of FO used in candle making. It determines the scent throw. The max percentage is noted to candle suppliers website when you browse each fragrance or different waxes. People choose a number based on what the supplier recommends and test up or down from there.

Hi Paris!! Your videos have been a big help for me in starting my candle making journey. I have an important question about the amount of dye to add. I haven’t seen a video on this yet. Like I have with the fragrance oil amount. I have an 8oz jar. My wax amount is 164g. My fragrance oil amount is 17g. My whole content load is then 181g for one jar. How much dye would I need? I played around with a few but I didn’t measure (silly of me I know) and I have different colour consistencies. How much dye would you recommend with my current stats? I’d love a response if possible! I want a guide amount for the dye because I intend to make batches so they need to be consistent. I hope you have a wonderful 2023 when it comes too.

Make testers and when they cool see which color consistency you like. Keep your dye separate from your FO & Wax. Do a 1 drop method for your liquid dye, adding more drops with each tester. That’s how you can see which amount of color you like. This way you don’t waste product but are getting results.

So I was making some candles a few weeks ago and when I poured the wax in the jar, the wick completely lifted. This has happened more than once with CD and Eco wicks , and when I poured at different Temps. Have you had this happen before?

It’s not about the wicks; it’s about the adhesive process. Not sure what you are using to stick down your wicks but make sure it’s strong👍🏽
