You could put in the customisable diff and race gearbox to get the lowest ratios possible for towing, along with tuning the 1.0 engine and it will pull much more i think.

Pulling heavy stuff is all about gear ratio. That's why you see videos with trucks pulling 1000 containers. It's impressive yes, but doesn't prove anything.

The answer is simple - an "infinite" amount of weight, if you get proper parameters. In any case, towing the Saturn V rocket would be no problem with a proper vehicle using a 1-litre engine. Obviously, the SPEED would be extremely low with such incredible gearing etc. But as long as you don't mind the low speed, anything is possible.

Any car can pull any weight on a level road. If no components break. But even 1 PS (lets use a safety factor of 2 and make it 2 PS) can move 100 tons. The scary part is how to stop 100 tons with your beetle.

Should have left the regular wheels on it, it needed the wheelspin. You just needed to rev out 1st gear more

This is not applicable to real life :D - burnt clutch, broken axle shaft, engine stall, engine overheat, a real car like this wouldn't be able to spin wheels, lets say it is gr corolla and the car is super overbuilt - then again this stress would cause major overheat of the weakest links and even a miracle happens and this can is still alive - this would cause serious wear to the car like it is 40 years of age old and worn.

You could have added more reduction with the race gearbox and race final drive. Or you could have inflated the dolly and trailer tires to like double the psi to lower the rolling resistance. With these combined I am sure you could pull at least 120 tonnes

You just have to gear it very very low, and you can tow anything. But it will take some time. Its all about engine horsepower and wheel torque.

would not be able to do that in real life because you're flooring it, all of that weight would instantly twist the driveshaft. It's not the motor you should be focused on its the weakest point and thats the u-joints and the driveshaft. not to mention the constant flooring would burn the clutch up. So in reality this was a pointless and not informative video tape

Well, there's a detail you're missing with that comment: trucks rev lower so to compensate amd be able to reach higher speeds they have longer ratios, you'd need something like a F1 gearbox to get the desired result, and final drive ratio (the ratio output of the differential) affects more anyways.
