If you could get a new machine today, would you go with the 925 or ctx100? What are your thoughts on ditch witch? I’m getting quotes on new machines now and would love your opinions

I would stick with the same machine, but mostly because I like the gas machine for various reasons. But if Vermeer stopped making the gas 925, I'd go to the 100 or 160. I've been using Vermeer brand for several years, and I like working with that location. I actually have a bobcat dealer 5 minutes from me, but I don't like the bobcat mini. The Vermeer dealer is 30 minutes away, but I go into that area to work quite often, so it's not a big deal for me to get there. I wish Bobcat had a machine comparable to my 925 but I don't feel like it is there yet. But that's just my opinion and have never actually used any other brands. Hopefully that helps!

@ interesting.. why do you prefer the gas?
@SchottServices15 күн бұрын
@DevinJenkins-z1d Everything I run is gas. Trucks, lawn mower, etc. My first mini skid steer was a Toro gas. When I decided to go up to a bigger machine, Vermeer made a gas machine, so I decided to stay with this theme. Diesel machines are more expensive initially, and I typically trade mine in at the 800-1000 hour range anyhow once they are out of the 3 year warranty. (Vermeer offers 2 additional years to included 1 year warranty). So having a diesel isn't a huge deal for me in the long haul even though these machines will last longer than that. But I will most likely keep my current pair of machines longer because they have gone up in cost considerably in the last few years. I like gas machines because when I try to get to a gas station to fill up its sometimes difficult to get to the only pump with diesel, and if there is even a pump with diesel. My station just down the road doesn't even offer diesel. But it's the easiest gas station to get in and out quickly with my truck and trailer. I am not a mechanic in any sense, but do try to do any maintenance on my own. I know a little about gas engines and nothing about diesel. In my head, Diesel engines are more difficult to work on. But I don't really know because I've never owned one! I will do work on really cold days in the winter and have heard that diesel fuel can gel up/be harder to start in cold temps. Again, I've never really researched it and just keep using the gas machine! These are a few reasons but may not make sense for everyone! As mentioned before, if Vermeer stops making a gas model, I will buy the 100 or 160 with diesel. Hopefully that helps!

Why use that bucket instead of a standard tooth?
@SchottServices2 жыл бұрын
I use this bucket because maneuver larger pieces of concrete with it while picking up and loading on truck. It's like a big crowbar on the end of the machine!

Did you buy all your attachments from same company? I plan on buying one for my business and adding extra side jobs. Thank you for your videos
@davidortiz1666 Жыл бұрын
So your opinion All attachments you been using with your gas engine can be done with no problem with diesel engine. On the 925 I see you use on your videos, you say it's a gas. Same equipment but a diesel engine

Are you referring to the 24.5 diesel by Vermeer?

@@davidortiz1666 everything I've used in my videos would be fine. Brush cutter might be a lot for it but guessing it would still run it ok. I believe the 40hp gas has slightly more horsepower than that engine. Some else commented on another video saying they use the brush cutter with this machine. You want to always be within gpm of machine output. I tried a stump grinder last year that was .5gpm over my machine and my machine could not handle it. Even though manufacturer said it would be fine!
