Great information Amy. That is exactly where I am at with this new found art. I've been doing punch needle art with the Cameo punch needle and have been working with kits and patterns that tell you exactly how much thread/floss you will need. Now I'm learning rug making with the Oxford punch and I'm buying patterns and realizing that they don't come with yarn color guides and how much you will need. It's a more creative process and I'm loving it but was confused on how much should I buy. This is very helpful, thank you.

Hi, I have been thinking about making my own rugs for a couple of weeks or more now and being that i couldn't find the prefect rug for my apartment and everytime i found one it either got discontinued or had so many bad reviews i started thinking to myself is there any possible way i can make a rug myself so i started doing some research being that i am a crocheter to see if there was a way to incorporate the two somehow in which I stumbled upon latch hook rug making videos Fast Forward...i put in a search for latch hook rugs directly in search bar and your video was the only one the that caught my eyes and all i know is that i couldn't resist the urge to click it and lo and behold right infront of me was the video I had been looking for so with my story finally done lol i would like to know what type of backing should I use and how much would i need using the floor plan of me apartment of my living room space,I also would like to know what type of yarn can i or should I use although I would like to use wool yarn for maintenance

How do you get the gauge?
@TheOxfordCompany Жыл бұрын
We offer stitch gauges on the website. These will show you how many stitches per inch you would need to punch for correct loops. A good rule of thumb is to punch 4-6 stitches per inch for the border and 6-8 for filling in with the regular size needles and 10-12 stitches per inch for the fine needle.
