what is more suprising to me (and makes me feel even more grateful) is that you all still continue to put out content with how little is paid per hour after you calculate it all out even before taxes are paid on top of that. I do try and make sure I use affiliate links and codes now too and I try to let ads go ahead and run if I am going out of the room briefly anyway. It will be interesting to see the amount next year to compare to this year with more videos posted.

I’ll be honest I came over to watch this video after ilysse from plan with ilysse mentioned you and this video, im truely shocked at how little you actually make from KZbin considering all that you put into it. I’ve subscribed atp your channel and I’ll be sure to watch ads and use your affiliates when I make any purchases x

Thank you for such personal information. I have been wanting to start a cooking channel but don’t know anything about editing. For me, it would just help my accountant job money. But, thanks for the actual take and advice.
@AmandasFavorites8 ай бұрын
You are so welcome:) I really hope this video is help to those wanting to start a channel. Editing can be simple with just imovie- comes free on the Mac. That one is easy to learn on your own watching a few KZbin vids. I would start there. That is what I used for all these years until Pierce just started editing for me. He uses DaVinci Resolve - the free version- but takes some learning.

This is really surprising to me, because I have always considered your planner videos--your channel--so helpful and professional. You are my go-to resource for planner videos, and sometimes I even watch old ones when I get really into the idea of a new planner and want to see what you thought of it or what the inside of the planner looked like. I definitely try to always use your affiliate links, though sometimes I forget. But now that I know this (and omg THANK YOU for being honest and open about something that few people seem to be open about), I'm going to try extra hard to use your affiliate links. I don't know if I can commit to monthly Patreon subscriptions/donations/whatever we want to call them, but I will try to commit to using your links and trying to remember every time. Also, just in general, thank you for all that you do! You are such a blessing for anyone who's interested in planners.

Hey Sarah:) I think it really matters more the number of views we get on each video and how long people watch each video....more than subs matter in the KZbin Revenue. But subs do matter a lot when trying to get planners from companies to review & getting sponsored content;) At least this is what I have learned and in my experience. I love your channel and think you do a fabulous job. We can't measure our success based on numbers, but I do measure if it's worth my time since this has become a real part-time job for me;) Yes, I love planners- but that doesn't mean making content isn't work;) I know you understand this too:)

Thank you for sharing your numbers. So many say that they earn only pocket money on KZbin and that’s not a very accurate amount. Someone else’s pocket money can be someone’s fortune and vice versa. But sadly it seems that KZbin will always be just an expensive and time consuming hobby if you don’t build other income streams. Something to think about…

How many hours do you average per week for filming? And editing if you were to do it?
@AmandasFavorites7 ай бұрын
I haven't timed it carefully- but estimated 5-7 hours per video at this point. From conception to uploaded. That is with editing. Although some videos take longer with many planners in them. I did go into more detail about this in another comment;) thanks for watching!

@vickiec1818 ай бұрын
I thought the amount would be less. Can you give us an idea on how many hours go into creating an average length video from planning (or whatever is first) to uploading? I don't know what "average length" would be. Lol 😂
@AmandasFavorites8 ай бұрын
Well after taxes are taken out- that is less than $100 a video I make (averaging) and that's after 7 years of work to reach this point...years before have a been a lot less- and beginning years nothing. So I don't think that's a lot. It takes 5-7 hours average- can be more on a launch video and videos with more than one planner. And that is from conception to finish with a long list of stuff that goes into it. that could be a whole video in itself to explain the list. So that's making $20 an hour from youtube ads on a video that takes the 5 hour mark- and with Pierce editing and our time put together most videos with our combined time are now taking much longer- bc he spends a lot more time editing than I did. So that means we are making less than $10 each an hour (less that most hourly fast food jobs). I am not complaining. We have chosen to do this;) I am just trying to give perspective. And that is why all KZbinrs need multiple streams of income.
