Well done Maria for taking part in the ceremony. You performed the fasting and ritual with devotion and dedication and I am sure Ayush and his family were so proud of you. Fasting is not easy, especially if this is your first time and your body not used to it, but you did a great job to observe the fast until the end. Ayush did a good job supporting and encouraging you which must have helped you get through the day.

It's ok to encourage your wife to keep fast on Karwa Chauth , but please you dont have to fast on karwa chauth , it is against the shastras , karwa chauth is only for women , there are many other fast for men which you can do but not karwa chauth . If you are keeping fast on karwa chauth , its better to tell your wife not keep fast , atleast it will not disrepsect our traditions

it is just not about the process or tradition of the ritual....when we know the history of the festival...we do with conviction in our hearts...rather than a norm...i must appreiciate shri maria for involving herself....believe you me most of the festivals in India has a great reasons in tune with mother earth,our history and cosmos....
