If Mang Inasal was so better 5yrs ago, Imagine how good it was back when it was just starting. We have been to Mang Inasal even before they were own by Jollibee Corp, back when Jose Manalo is the sole model/endorser. Back when it's not that crowded yet, when the portions are bigger and cheaper, great times.

By the way Jess, it is common for us Filipinos to eat using their hands because its a tradition of our ancestors that are passed to generations. In the past, Filipinos eat using their hands until we were colonized by the Spaniards, Americans and Japanese where they brought and introduced the utensils/flatwares to us. Good thing we still preserved and practice that way of eating up to this day. Also, Filipinos love combo meals and unli stuff because it is cheaper that way, BUT the quality and taste of the food is amazing. Don't you agree? We are always careful with money because our country is poor. I hope this information helps you. I also hope you remember my comments whenever you post new videos like this. Jessica Lee Also, I forgot to tell you that Halo-halo is the best Filipino dessert. The Gong Cha pearl your sister told you about is called "sago" the pink one. It is a very important ingredient of the delicacy and kids love it. Sago is always partnered with "gulaman" the green jelly like thing in it (that is buko pandan flavor. Others ingredients are beans (that are known to make children smart but they do not like its taste), rice crisps, langka (jackfruit), banana, ube halaya (usually nowadays they use ube ice cream instead) and leche flan (pudding). You can easily make it at home if you have these ingredients. Add crushed ice and pour milk (preferrably evaporated milk) and add sugar to taste. It's like Korea's patbingsu but the only difference is you can feel the crunch of ice in Philippines' Halo-halo.

Share ko lang.... I have 3 teenage kids, half white and half pinoy. When I took them to the Philippines 4 years ago finding food to eat was so difficult, they were just so picky but not until we discovered Mang Inasal. Every time we go there they just ate those chickens like there's no tomorrow but I just loved the shocked reaction of the cashier every time they said no rice but thank goodness they are learning how to eat rice now. But I'm sad that they no longer have the banana leaves, that was the charm of it besides of course the delicious taste of the chicken.

Hi Jessica. It was great to see your little sister eat with her hands, just a very common way to do it. If I may, the proper way to eat with your fingers is to scoop the rice with all your fingers, clamping them together, once you've lifted your hand, you turn it so the rice is resting on your four fingers, lift your hand to your mouth, then you use your thumb(nailside) to push the rice towards your mouth, by sliding your thumb. Voila! Bon Appetit.

It’s called “sago” the circle-like reddish topping that taste great and so chewy in the halo halo. It has a different color in Gongcha but it’s the same. It’s sago. I love Mang Inasal and whenever I think of eating at Mang Inasal, I try to not eat a lot before eating there so I can get like more rice and the price will be “sulit” or worth it. I usually eat like 5 extra rice everytime I eat there but my limit is 8 extra rice and I’ll be bloated after 🤣🤣🤣

Im still laughing remembering that hilarious moment together with my friends while we eating at mang inasal and the halo halo is served together with the foods and drinks while me after finishing 6 extra rice my halo halo is completely melted and I used the biscuit stick as a straw because the hole is big so I take a big sip and all of the melted halo halo made me cough and entered my nasal cavity and goes out to my nose me and my friends cracked up instead of being embarrassed.

Just to share, everytime I go home to Bacolod, I never ever step a foot in Mang Inasal...lol, I would usually go to Manokan Country near SM City Bacolod, since its the authentic chicken inasal. It's like a tradition for me not to leave Bacolod City without eating chicken inasal same with the original batchoy. 😉 I love Tiffany's reaction while eating the chicken with bare hands, she's a real pro! 😉😊
