that was a lovely timeline... nicely done. Very encouraged to do my own, which is on my list of medicinal shrubs to plant this spring. Thank you for the tips. I had no idea there were frost blankets for plants, we live to learn as this is my first year in the garden:)

I'm in zone 7, moved here last year and planted many bushes in the bare back yard. Very few survived the winder, which I don't get, being from up north, never had issues with plants not making it there why would they die here, but they do and did, except a few and my black lace elderberry was one of the survivors. I've since planted another black lace and have two black beauties on order. Thank you for the winter tips, I may need to try that this coming winter.

Lovely video. Im in z4b and just planted one. I dont typically baby shrubs like in your video, but i think i will for this one for its first winter. I like what you did and appreciate you showing the timeline. It's been a few years, how is it doing now?

They're zone 4 hardy, probably 3b if protected well.. so naturally pretty cold tolerant. I'm in 8B so I have the opposite problem 🙃. Morning sun for me, and lots of water during the summer.

I thought they are cold hardy zone 4-7. If that’s the case it would have survived regardless.
