How Nadu Became the Most BUSTED Creature in Modern!

Modern is definitely my favorite of the 60 card formats. Unfortunately I feel like the current meta is at least a little bit stale. But admittedly I’m a little nostalgic for the days when Jund, Splinter Twin, etc. were relevant decks. Recently, I did think that monoblack was pretty fun, but of course, we know how that ended up. 😔

Energy + The One Ring have made modern feel pretty bad honestly. I think while there are a few decks that are pretty good options overall I think Boros/mardu are the flat out best things to be doing in the format since they have ways of beating other decks that try to loop the ring till they get to do their thing.

The Nadu ban has kind of opened up Modern in a nice way. I know energy is dominating the meta rn but it feels like there’s still validity to decks that don’t include TOR or energy like Goryo’s, Murktide, Yawgmoth, even Ruby. Sure there are dominant cards and mechanics but none of them are unbeatable. Feels like there are a number of competitive decks rn which is nice.
