How natural selection leads to the Ecological Niche

Natural selection is a nonrandom process in nature by which organisms acquire genetic traits that allow them to adapt to their habitat. Through the process, those individuals with the most adaptive traits will survive, reproduce, increase in number or frequency, and therefore, transmit and perpetuate their essential genotypic qualities to succeeding generations.
