The bit of kunai not being killing weapons is also without mentioning that they're not at all so aerodynamic as to be able to be thrown with any semblance of accuracy. It is highly unfortunate that not much is ever seen of his abilities in general, but there is at the least potential for him to be a pretty historically accurate ninja; outside of throwing kunai and shuriken and pulling fancy poses, lol. It is fitting that you will very rarely be throwing shuriken in Sonic Heroes, though, and that when you do, it doesn't do that much, as shuriken were more distractions than anything.

I suppose he really is a ninja after all I mean, he has shurikens, has a stealth capability and his poses are similar to that of one.
