As soon as I saw you pouring that shielding paint into the cavity without taping up the tone and volume holes, I knew you’d run into a disaster 😂
@BudgetGuitarShow6 сағат бұрын
I had taped them up, it was cut in the edit. The paint has seeped under the tape. A mistake I am not proud of.

Dear Johnny souyou had trouble with the bridge fittings you need a drill bit slightly larger or a wooden dowel that is a loose fit you cut a slot in the end slip a strip of sandpaper or wet & dry through it wind it around thhe dowel and use it in your drill to carefully ream out the holes keep checking till they just go in , it does work ive done it . Also i used a bolt of the correct thread to tap the bushes in gently hope this helps but maybe in the new year mate Merry Christmas to you and yours thanks for the entertainment and honesty oi oi😊

I use copper shielding tape on guitars with single coil pickups, but I wouldn't bother on humbuckers because it probably makes little or no difference. Copper shielding tape takes longer, but it's not messy and it's more effective.

I normally use tape, I was trying something different that I had been recommended.....the paint is now in the bin

sorry I missed the premiere was in the midst of going through all the comments for special, catching up now. Came across something interesting, when KZbin had that "issue" with the uploads. Where you had to make them public private couple times. I came across quite a few comments YT never showed me. 4 out of 5 got my new auto reply for trolls🤣but one was a good guy

Interesting and informative video - warts and all, it's useful👍✌️ Perfectionism, procrastination, analysis paralysis would hamper me with a kit build, so kudos to you 👍👍👍 Re the shielding paint I thought 'wow what a great idea, but what about the other apertures🤔' Now we know - sorry to see that💜💜💜 Can you, once all holes etc are drilled and everything functioning, strip it down and either do a paint job or look for a veneer specialist to re-veneer the top? The Midlands still has a lot of craftsmen and car industry woodworkers who would know how to help. Or, of course, seek out a local luthier for help🤔🤔 I hope it comes good. Remember we only learn by making mistakes💜✌️👍 The season's greetings to you and yours too👍🎉🎄🎉🎄🎉🎄✌️💜💜😊😊

You can always paint the front to hide the sand through. Don't you have a friend who is a keen DIYer who can re drill the holes to the right diameter? Thanks for the heads up on the screening paint, by the way. All I have ever found over here was from Radio Spares and hideously expensive, and StewMac wouldn't send Screening paint due to safety restrictions: 30 seconds on Amazon and it is on the way! A smaller brush and maybe the kitchen table on news paper would have been more successful. Happy XMas Johnny.
