Even after he woke up he would not send tanks to Normandy. They were absolutely convinced by what is probably the best spy operation in history that the main invasion would come at Calais. They held up a massive garrison there including most of their tanks. By the time they realized that Normandy was the real invasion it was too late and France was lost.

Personally I play S44 over Squad because the gore is absolutely brutal and unnervingly realistic. It adds an entire different feeling that you just dont get with regular Squad. It does kill the immersion having such spectacular high powered effects and sounds, but then everyone looks like they got hit by airsoft pellets.

That was me on the 2cm Flak 38 - There's no way to kill a Sherman with it lol, won't even pen the side. I was trying to track it so infantry AT can take shots at it and shoot at the gunner's optics to keep him from shooting accurately. Also the Germans don't get any armor on utah invasion, only on utah offensive/skirmish. On Utah offensive the allies get 8x M4A3 Sherman Wade, deployed in LCT(A). I wanted to build an 8.8cm Flak 36 up there to counter their armor, but I didn't have enough build after making a FOB so I went with the 2cm rather than spending the extra time to refill my supplies. Looks like it was the right choice though!

honestly, for squad 44, the thing i would love most to see would be early war stuff. Especially if the polish army is in the game, but the french are another strong contender. those armies rarely get the spotlight and love they deserve so seeing more of them would be great.

Loved the video @MoiDawg! Can't wait for the next video man! Usually, people think about Omaha Beach and the Horrendous Casualties inflicted on the 29th Infantry Division and Long Lines of GMC DUKW's (Duck's) and M3 Half-Tracks after the Beaches had been Cleared and a Beachhead Secured when they think of Normandy. Seeing The 4th Infantry Division on Neighbouring Utah Beach brings up the little known Fact that Theodore Roosevelt Jr.'s Forces were caught in the Currents and landed almost a Mile West of where they were supposed to land at which point he just said "Well, Let's start the War from Here then." and his troops got right to work on the Defenses. The Sherman's look like they're either the M4A3 or the M4A2 Sherman with the Wading Trunks. The Ones that landed on Normandy were M4A1's with the Duplex Drive (DD) Equipment and Floatation Screen which are still commonly known as Sherman DD's. Being an M4A1 Sherman, The Front of the Tank's Upper Hull was rounded on the Sides. Nice to see Sherman's doing some work though. Imagine seeing a GMC DUKW Amphibious 2½-Ton Truck was in Squad '44 as a Transport and Logistics Vehicle Option though! You'd be able to set up a FOB and get Supplies and a Workshop on the Beach or in the Countryside nearby. Also, do the Landing Craft Actually do the little Circles while getting into Formation or do they just Bumrush the Beach? Just curious because it looks like they do the Latter. It would be interesting to see if you could Command the Landing Craft to Form up off of one Sector for a certain amount of time before heading towards the Beach as well as seeing them coming from the Transport Ships like the Arthur Harris-class and the More Modern Bayfield-class Attack Transport Ships (APA's) and Andromeda-class Attack Cargo Ships (AKA's), Maybe even throw in some Landing Craft Infantry (Large) (LCI(L)'s), and Landing Craft Tank Mark 5 and Mark 6 (LCT 5's and LCT 6's) as well. Let me know what you think about this and I'll catch you in your next video man!

This game is just special. Post Scriptum years ago had some incredible experiences. I booted up today after hearing of updates. We played Offensive on Arnhem, British defending. It ended with two tickets left with time expiring in British favor. Awesome game

The irony of this video, is that in the actual storming of these beaches, their was only literally a few handfuls of Germans at each beach. They had absolutely deadly positioning with overlapping fire and ideal weaponry, but the numbers were WAY. WAY more unvalanced than the fight we see here. Thats why they say it takes over 3 times the men on defense to be effective on offense. It makes this an inferesting adventure, and shows also how much easier it is to fight someone trying to kill you in a gunfight in a game than it really is in real life. So cool 😂

@@grubby55 Yea, one of the sad facts that most were conscripted against their will from the countries Germany had already conquered. All of those young kids screaming in their native tongues that they are not Germans when trying to surrender only to be treated and shot as Germans from us. Same shit is happening now with Russia and Ukraine. All those kids that got duped into joining the Russians from foreign countries having to fight against a country they have no grievances with.

@@grubby55 I knew about the Poles, and those two poor bastards from Korea, but I never knew Slovaks were there. They were allied with the Axis from day one and only deployed their troops into the Soviet Union and Nazi-occupied Yugoslavia. The last two divisions ended the war as work battalions building defenses in Czechia at the surrender. Their troops performed well in the field so it would be interesting to know how they got to be there at that place and time.

Utah was the only beach at which the bombers flew the length of the beach. The bombing was very effective and destroyed most of the defences. Without that, Utah would have been a lot harder than it was.

Not many infantry know what to do with the frontline mode and satchels. You can have all the early gains, but they are used to holding a point a certain time to get to the next one. This is still one of the more difficult scenarios. It's not easy pushing from the beach.

I was the commander of that 3-man tank squad, we were supposed to be pushing with the infantry and I ran out real quick to get some food I ordered and when I returned everyone was dead and my driver is telling me they have a tank. Lmfao I was very confused cause they shouldn’t have had any tanks ended up being an AA truck we killed it after a bit but the infantry momentum was never really there after that. RIP we tried Imagine my surprise when I check my KZbin feed to see our game, was definitely fun!

Remember when I played marksman and saw the our explisive guys dident push last two barricades. Swapped to sapper and managed to take them out. But last one was within last 10 sec when it blow up. But its a hard map if you can coordinate or understands the mission. And a good tank crew suppresing the is important.

Glad to see Post Scriptum being revive by OffWorld, I'd wish the same thing happened for Beyond The Wire, which is another really good game, but unfortunately it died, not sure why though. Will definitely start playing Squad and Squad 44 since the last time I've played was 1 1/2 years ago. A lot of content for me to explore for Squad since V8 came out with the T-90! @vallewasgeddney5996 with the ICO I feel like the intentional use of the canteen makes the stamina mechanic rewarding to the player, you'd be able to bump your stamina to cover long distance at a speed that's harder to be killed, before getting into a fight. If you canteen and then push, your aim is restored quicker, but you're also vulnerable in the animation. With the current stamina mechanic in the squad, sprinting long distance is a pain, and getting to a good position when near the enemy you get screwed by the stamina mechanic rather than being able to engage with it like in squad 44. Just my observation
