It's called a deterrent. Nobody leaving that carpark did a burnout, donuts, skids when they saw those officers. Not many got tickets either. It was a win, win for the drivers and police and bonus, nobody got injured or worse. Judging by the fact quite a few of them couldn't seem to see the correct side of the road to drive on after a left turn, that was probably a good thing. One or two were even looking like driving past on the left side of the police cruiser that was waiting at the light so probably not the best people to be "performance driving" anywhere other than a hot wheels track.

The real fun type of car was my factory sleeper Mercury Grand Marquis. 215 hp 351W and heavy duty trailer tow pavkage. There was so much torque low in the revs that it would simply pull. To keep it on the road the performance axle was a 2.73:1 Traction Lok. 390 lb/ft of torque would definitely make itself known. I ran H speed rated whitewall performance tires on it. To look at, triple dark red, vinyl top, white strip tires, and full wherl covers. They did not hint at the factory 1¼ inch front and 1 inch rear antisway bars. It just put the power down and went like a scalded cat.
