Compression cubes are the best. You can get more in the suitcase plus so much nicer when you unpack you bag and put your clothes in a hotel dresser. I do everything understated when in Paris…..no expensive jewelry, no logos, no athletic wear. I’ve always tried to blend in wherever I travel. Have fun. I can’t wait for my trip too

Only two tops? Three if you throw in a turtleneck, as you mentioned. I always pack lots of solid-color, lightweight tops, they don’t weigh much or take up much space, and they give a lot of outfit options. I also pack a few simple silk dresses, usually in black and navy, and change them up with accessories, like fashion jewelry (I leave my few fine jewelry items at home), a few belts and silk scarves, and lightweight blazers or cardigans, for dinners out. Then, I never have to wear the exact same evening look twice. Accessories are easy to pack, unlike shoes and heavy jackets/coats. I would love to find a great, natural-fiber, white pantsuit to take traveling, suits can be very useful for days and evenings, with a silk tank or cami, for example. I only take one pair of comfy, mid-height, heels, for evening. Gold is my favorite because it goes with everything, but I’m currently looking for a comfy pair, in leather. Please do a post-trip review and show us what you actually wear, that is often the most useful - what worked, what you missed, what didn’t get worn, etc. Thanks!

I went to Paris last October and I really enjoyed how much they are into fashion! People just know how to dress there. For the first time in my life I felt like I was in a place where I didn’t feel over dressed! ❤️

I think that's great I don't suppose you will be doing all the filming Valentina is thinking of doing though so wearing the bulkier items and packing dual purpose neutrals is the way to go, I did it for Australia so it can be done, minimal toiletries buy small versions there.

Except the white trainers. Unless they are leather. I hope you and Jack have the best time. The first time I visited Paris was in April many years ago. April in Paris. Lovely song. Lovely time I will never forget. ❤

Oh how exciting to travel to Paris and Morocco! I won a free trip to Paris to 2 many years ago and I took my daughter who was about 11 years old at the time and now she's 32 years old! I've never been to Morocco and can't wait to see your video on these two places! May I suggest a great book that I'm currently reading called, "The Last Dress From Paris" a novel by Jade Beer (Amazon find) and it's all about the Dior gowns back in the 1950s. It's a page tuner and the author describes Paris so elegantly that it makes me want to return there again very soon!!

@@suzangroves959 The main characters in the book are from London and they travel back and forth from both countries on Eurostar. The book starts off a little slow, but stick with it, and then you won't want to put it down! My boyfriend and I are traveling to London from Honolulu next year and soooo looking forward to it!

It’s so hard to get husbands out of ball caps, band or sport-team tees and sweat pants! Nice, dark wash, undistressed jeans and a few cotton dress shirts might be better than no effort at all, if you can talk him into them. A nice pair of leather shoes, like loafers or even boating shoes, and a sports-coat or other blazer would be great, too, at least for dinners/evenings. A plain leather or suede ball cap in black or navy would be a step up from the usual red, orange, etc. sport-logo one. Men dress a lot better in Europe than here in the US (I don’t know your location), maybe show him some current videos or images of how French, British and Italian men dress there. He probably really doesn’t want to look sloppier than everyone else, but is unaware of the European standards of dress for men, unless he’s traveled there a lot. It’s tough to get husbands to dress up a lot, but often they’ll dress up a little, focus on small upgrades. Remind him that if he stands out as a tourist, you’ll both be targets for crime. Leave those big, huge cameras and camera/accessory bags, at home; cell phone cameras are quite good now for most purposes. My European Dad dresses well to go out, but my American stepfather never wore anything except baggy gray sweatpants and black, often ragged, t-shirts, that’s sadly, pretty common here in Northern California (San Francisco Bay Area). Good luck and have great trips🙂

tip for trip?: bring the box or ziploc of *all the perfume samples you’ve collected* I was going to take a Dior Mitzah face palette on this trip to Malta, but I ended up just taking a nude Backstage, some Elemis illuminating kefir & Dior base & concealer, Armani SPF primer & some Sensei daycream with SPF… really pared back because a dog bit my finger off 2 weeks ago, so I’m definitely looking a bit haggard & worn. No heels: I dread falling with my new stumpy finger bandaged up

You may want to consider packing less so you can go shopping and add some new Paris items. I have learned to limit the amount of clothing that I pack on my trips now and it is so liberating. It's like taking a mini capsule wardrobe. I love the packing cubes. I view them as portable dresser drawers. It keeps all your clothes so organized. I vote for taking the smaller Dior handbag. It is lovely. Enjoy your trip. Keep an eye out for the protests that are going on in Paris.

Well I watch a bird's eye view of what the women of London, Milan and Paris are wearing and although they are dripping in designer clothes and jewellery, the footwear of choice with every outfit is designer trainers or whatever the terminology is for a one or two thousand dollar pair of 'sport' shoes. I like them, they look brilliant, are very smart and are giving ladies some comfort and WOW.
@melodymulhall7860 Жыл бұрын
I went to Paris at this time of year and packed three tops and two bottoms. That was it. Don’t you know you go shopping when you are there? Why are you packing so much. It’s more fun to hit their Zara and some great places on the Champs. Don’t pack so much and take an empty suitcase for what you buy!
@kimberlyperrotis8962 Жыл бұрын
When I shop a lot on trips, I just have Fedex box and ship all my purchases to my home address the day or two before I leave (it’s even cheaper for a longer delivery window, if you’re ready to ship then). No outrageous airline luggage fees, FedEx is cheaper and the package can be insured for its true value, not just the pathetically tiny amount that airlines pay for lost luggage. Then, everything is on my doorstep when I get home from the airport, or arrives the next day. I have chronic back trouble, I don’t want to deal with extra baggage anyway, one check-in and an under-seat carry-on is plenty.

As a flight attendant who travels the world we never wear white trainers as that definitely shows your a tourist and very American. I’m shocked to hear Europeans are wearing white trainers now although I understand fashion is forever changing😊. I’ll have to take a look around on my next trip to Europe however, I don’t see myself doing it while I’m traveling for work or pleasure over seas. ❤
