Guys, is it just me, or Hobi's lyrics of Just Dance sounds like it's made for Jimin? or if it's not for Jimin, it's for the boys. idk why, i didn't even ship jihope before, i'm neutral with all the ships, i love them all. But as soon as i listen to just dance for the first time and read the lyrics, it reminded me of the bond of these two. that makes me pay more attention to this ship and now i love them so much! jihope is that underrated ship who actually really affectionate with each other constantly but for some reason people sleep on them even tho it's obvious? i do admit i was paying more attention to the more popular ships before. I remember watching summer package, and jhope just straight asking jimin (who's sitting on his lap) to go back to that tropical island, with just the two of them makes me go O___O !!!?? and Jimin making multiple videos asking for Jhope to go back home to their dorm is just so adorable omg imagine already roomate with somebody, working with him, they have to be really compatible to still want to be with each other that much on their free time. sry for making an essay, but i just love your videos it makes me love jihope more! thank you!! please keep making them if you have time, these two always put a smile on my face

Hi, I'm actually really glad you said that Just Dance reminded you of Hobi's relationship with Jimin, because I thought that immediately too. I'm too scared to discuss it with anyone though because it may start arguments and I'm too scared to argue on the internet, but I may be safe here, so I'm going to go ahead and risk it so I can get it off my chest xD (WARNING: Long essay-style thing XD) The song is about Hobi loving dancing and also loving someone who bonds with him through dance, which is connected to Jimin since they are known to dance together both casually and when doing actual duo performances. However, this part of the song isn't actually what stands out to me the most, but some particular lyrics. "Where are you from, why are you dancing? Natural conversation - Say something" sounds like Hobi is talking about when he first met this person (implied in "where are you from?") and trying to strike up conversation with them. He asks "why are you dancing?" and this fits Jimin because Jimin studied dance at a Performing Arts school and was one of their top dancers before joining BigHit, meaning that he would have been seen as a fellow dancer. "It's weird. It fits so well - Everything is going to be fine" is about the two discovering that they get along very well. (If one has seen the way Jimin and Hobi interact, then there is no need for elaboration here.) Then Hobi finds that he has a problem with being considered friends with this person. This negative is implied in the 'But' of "But you're my friend, yes my friend Just..." and the 'Just..." at the end of the sentence further implies that he wants to be something more than 'just friends' but the repetition of "my friend" implies that he is trying to accept that he cannot be more, and is repressing his feelings at this point in the story that this song is telling. Eventually the song gets to a part in this story where Hobi has told his feelings and the other has returned them - "A single stroke of the heart - My heart as you know it now" (the truth of his romantic feelings) "You want to keep it going like you liked dancing" (accepting the confession) and then "So you're my love, yeah my love" (them now being in a relationship because Hobi can call him "my love" in consequence). The idea that the love is requited is supported by Hobi referring to his feelings also as his "heart" earlier on in the song when he is scared of the other person reacting poorly to his feelings and trying to ignore them - "If you let go of the tension and hide my heart now I regretted giving it to you." Right afterwards the "so you're my love, yeah my love" lyric, is the line "That's what I like". To me, it sounds like an acceptance and assertion of what type of person Hobi is romantically interested in. If it was simply an assertion that he likes the person he is now dating, it's an odd choice of phrasing because it would be "That's who I like". The "what" implies a broader scope. I interpret it as Hobi referring to liking men, because the fact he happily and proudly asserts "that's what I like" implies that it would not be obvious in the first place and/or he would have reason to keep it quiet, hence why he is asserting it now. This fits much more with a homosexual relationship than a heterosexual one due to how LGBT+ people are viewed in Korea. This also links to why Hobi would automatically assume he was in the friend zone at the beginning of the song instead of viewing them as a potential lover. Additionally, it would explain his earlier anxieties that the one he loves would ignore their own feelings towards Hobi - "drop the tension" - and try to forget that anything was between them -"hide my heart", because being in a gay relationship in a homophobic society is much riskier than the average straight relationship. Furthermore - this is just a little thing to add - if Hobi had feelings for Jimin early on but Jimin only outwardly reciprocated them later then that would work too, because based on the history of their interactions, Jimin in 2013-2014 appeared to like Hobi's explicit affections but he got very paranoid about them being on camera, saying stuff like " don't come closer, guys don't kiss guys", "I won't massage you on camera anymore" and jokingly saying to the camera "he actually like guys" about Hobi after Hobi kissed his neck, as if making a joke about it will cover it up. Then Hobi seems to get the message and tones it down a bit, making their affection much more subtle and only occasionally being caught doing not-so-subtle things, but Jimin has gradually become more and more affectionate towards Hobi, like he has overcome whatever he was dealing with in the early BTS years. Perhaps this was apart of the dating deal? 'I am happy to be with you but only if you make it less risky please'? This interpretation matches the story-line of the song, though I recognise that this extra bit is much more subjective so if you don't like wild theories then feel free to ignore it xD To conclude, I personally believe that there is a good chance that Just Dance is about Jimin. Of course, we cannot know for sure, but I don't think it is crazy to think that it is a possibility. Who else is Hobi's friend that he spends enough time with to dance with on a regular basis and fall in love with, who used to be a dancer before meeting him, and who has reasons to cause Hobi to at first repress his feelings and have anxieties about them? It appears that only Jimin fits the criteria. One could argue that this is a fictitious story and that the song wasn't based on personal experience, but BTS have said many times how personal their songs are, and while Hobi could write any old love song (as I'm sure some members have done before), it seems odd to write so many specific details that are relevant to Hobi's life if it were just any standard love song. Not to mention, the theme of the album is finally overcoming insecurities and being proud and loving those parts of yourself so you can love yourself truly. Yoongi's song was about letting go of a past relationship or a side of himself (at least that's how I interpreted it) and RM's was poignant because he is talking about how much love has changed him for the better when before he used to hate the word 'love'. Hobi happily singing about his hidden taboo relationship with Jimin would fit this theme of acceptance. Of course, I could have interpreted this song completely wrong, but I just wanted to share what I personally think because thinking about it on my own is driving me crazy xD Also, oh my god, this went on soooooo much longer than I even anticipated. Well, at first, I started making jihope videos because I really love them together, I love the way they smile for each other, how they are always there to give love and support for each other since they met, etc, etc. The thing is... I started making videos just because of myself.
