I heard that if you pump your mascara it puts more air in the container and dries your mascara faster. It's better to twist your wand instead of pumping it.

am I the only one that cringes when they waste so much high quality expensive products on a look that is meant to look bad and is going to be taken off within 5 mins of the video ending. I love these videos but you girls should just use good ol drugstore for these types of videos!

In terms of makeup and how quickly they expire, they're not wasting anything. Powders like blush, eyeshadow etc only have a span of 12-24 months depending on the brand. Have you ever used a FULL makeup pallette within 12 months? Or a full Lipstick within 6 month? A full eyeliner either liquid or pencil or mascara within 3 months?

***** that's actually extremely bad to do. What happens if you drink bad milk? You get sick right? Its the same with your skin. There is so much bacteria in it after that amount of time that it can seriously damage your skin and you can get serious infections. Ive had that case with a mascara. Where ive gotten a really bad eye infection from it. I now throw them out after about 4 months. I see it with things like eyeliners and mascaras and lipstick you definitely need to stick as close to that as possible as you're always getting bacteria onto those things. But foundations blushes and shadows etc are fine as long as you're ok with more breakouts caused by it. I extend the use by date by a month or two depending on the product but thats it.

You can sanitize makeup if you want to. I don't throw away stuff that I bought at the end of the summer, like lipsticks, that aren't really appropriate colors for over 6 months after that. I can't really wear a full face of makeup to work every day so I would go broke throwing stuff away to repurchase

***** haha. Im studying science minoring in microbiology so ive actually seen the bacteria on expired makeup. I'd probably never throw out my urbans or my loracs because im Australia they're like $150 plus postage. But everything else has to go. Studying disease and everything most days you get curious to whats on your makeup. And im telling you girl its not pretty. You're gonna be wanting to wash those brushes once a day haha
