What is more alarming is, most churches are increasingly giving yoga classes.I was a member of a renowned mega church which I left quickly. Apart from celebrating Halloween, Easter eggs and accommodating the needs of all kinds of sexual preferences, they also give yoga classes and card reading . They say, “ As long as it is done in the name of Jesus, it is alright” seriously? I discussed yoga with a lady who is Buddhist so to know more from the horse’s mouth and what she said startled me. “ As you Christians come to our countries to evangelize your gospel, unbeknownst to you we feel very much accomplished in penetrating the heart of your religion by spreading Our faith through Yoga and the like in all your churches and all public gyms while you think it is just a form of harmless ‘Exercise’ which we know the western world is obsessed with. That is our way of evangelizing our religion and you don’t even know it! What, you think we are stupid? Think again.” I was dumb founded and felt we have been had, to say the least. The Lord has warned us over and over again “Do not be deceived “ And advised us to Examine every spirit and to be as wise as a serpent. You see, On judgement day,to say “ But I didn’t know” is not going to hold water. I implore all my brothers and sisters in Christ who have been deceived by their own church into practicing activities such as these and there are many more, please run for dear life, pun intended! Once again thank you and Brother Baruch so much for putting this together for us. I also was lured by Satan into the martial arts at a young age of 27 and competed in MMA tournaments. I learned very quickly that was something I did not want to do. As a believer the Holy Spirit convicted me and I stopped, but the carnal nature of sin kept me watching the fights on pay per view. But when I had my first child, the Holy Spirit again convicted me to stop watching those fights and I did. There are many believers out there who are still trapped in that cycle. Shalom.

Please accept my humble response to your good question. When we read the battles and wars in the bibles, there is few details about training or preparation for battle. It is more about Adonai's presence with those in battle and His people cooperation in the battle. As David explains: 1 Sa 17:45-47 NASB Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have taunted. 46. “This day the Lord will deliver you up into my hands, and I will strike you down and remove your head from you. And I will give the dead bodies of the army of the Philistines this day to the birds of the sky and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, 47. and that all this assembly may know that the Lord does not deliver by sword or by spear; for the battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into our hands.”

What about stretching exercises. I do weights and I love to do a 15min stretching exercise. I use to do yoga before but I felt it wasn’t right. I never went deep into chacras, learning the poses and purpose of those or anything like that. I hace seen some poses of the follow along stretching videos which have some of the yoga stretching poses but they don’t talk or mention anything. Its just strictly stretching for after exercises.

Normal stretching is totally fine and essential but as we demonstrated in this video, Yoga is demonic not only in origin but some of the poses that you mentioned are done. The martial arts do not ALL have an underlying occult philosophy. How do you think Christians survived and spread the word? They were great martial artists called Christian warriors and Christian soldiers. However, many east Asian martial arts are involved in the occult. Nobody can take away our God given right to use our body and to be healthy and defend ourselves or others. The danger lies when we seek superpowers and the help of the spirit world to fight and become enlightened. Every Christian has a right to stretch the body without it being labeled as Yoga. Occult practitioners also eat, so does that mean Christians cannot eat? The point is, don't follow other spiritual practices and many spiritual practices have physical exercises that go along with them. That doesn't mean we cannot do physical exercises. Yes, we should not take a yoga class as it is Hinduism or certain martial arts classes that worship demons and pray to them seeking their powers, but we can stretch and pray and be healthy on our own. We can learn to defend ourselves. It is our duty to protect ourselves and those we love.
