Don't let intimidation get in the way of doing what you want to do. Sure the schooling can be difficult at times, I know as I will be finally done with my OT degree in a couple of weeks, but if you have the desire and drive and take it day by day you can do it. There are several science courses involved but occupational therapy has a lot to do with client-centered therapy and your skills in using your personality to connect with and understand your client.

Thanks for a great video! Thanks for showing how occupational therapists help people with their daily activities. I find the background music a bit sad - though the examples shown in the movie are serious, the music could perhaps show the relief and joy after therapeutic intervention better if it were more light and joyful.

What is the major difference between music therapy and occupational therapy? Is it simply a matter of concentration or is there more?
@shafiqpeer9 жыл бұрын
+Mildred L Occupational therapy is concerned with activities of daily living: things you do everyday. Occupational therapists empowers people through rehabilitation to engage or re-engage in everyday activities which are important to them, which they may not be able to do because of disabilities. Whether its because of a phyical, mental, perceptual... disability

Hey Shafiq Um I was wondering.... what should be the educational background of someone who wants to study Occupational Therapy ? Does it have to be medicine or something scientific? Can it be a background of social science such Human Rights? I would be so grateful if you can help me. Thank you

Maybe generalising but i understand why more women go into this profession. As a man I simply do not have the patience it requires for this job. These women are saints!
@SableRain9 ай бұрын
Patience is a skill that you can learn, just like speech, driving, or writing. Women are better at it simply because we have more practice with it since caretaking predominantly falls on us. It is difficult and exhausting for us, too. It is not a trait. It is emotional labour. So please don't assume it is just a trait that women have and men don't. Also, please take the time to consider how you benefit from the women in your life who do this work for you. It is called invisible labour for a reason.
