Same here. I'm only cleaning for "environmental" reasons: this year was a wet, rainy year so a thorough breakdown and wipe down was all that is needed. I'm not scrubbing the bore after 5 rounds, just one pass with some basic mineral spirits and follow up with light patch of oil and back in the rack.

After the season ends, before it goes back in the safe.These days I usually just pull a boresnak through a few times with Hoppes on the first section... Simple, fast, no mess or waste :) rare to need to do anything to the bolt 90% of the time, IMO.

Yeah this is pretty much my policy. Living in the dry, mountain west, rust isn’t an issue, so hunting rifles rarely get cleaned other than dry wipe downs.
