LOL.......you actually learned from your mistake and didn't include any weak acting this time. Thanks for making this short but very informative video. Please keep them coming.

Stropping is important to clean the apex, and remove the burr, and will improve overall edge retention, so it's a good idea every time you sharpen a knife!

Great tip 1 question can any leather strip be used for stropping ?

I read before that any old belt is good for it if you don't have the regular tool.

I’ve found a softer leather works best, a strip of suede works very well (if you can find any)

Could you do a segment on beveled (beveled from cutting edge to back) knives such as chef's knives?

I can't agree with the advice you gave for how often to sharpen/hone/strop. A better answer to any of those questions is as you should sharpen/hone/strop as often as your knife needs it. And how often it needs it depends on how much and how hard you use your knife, how soft or hard the steel in your knife's blade is, and how you define sharp. Personally I'm kinda picky about my knives being sharp. I like them to shave hair. I don't use them especially hard, but I do use them a good bit to break down cardboard boxes, cut paper, and open aluminum foil coffee packets at work. I have some pocket knives with 3cr/420 blades that I've been using at work on and off for probably 5 years now. (They're cheap and save wear on my better knives.) When I use one of those at work, I have to touch it up (resharpen and strop) daily because by the time I get home I can tell it just isn't cutting as well as I'd like. When I use a different knife, say something with 8cr or 440c I can usually go 2-3 days before I have to touch it up. Regardless of the steel, it usually takes me 5-10 minutes work with a carbide file/diamond stone and cardboard strop; or around 1-2 minutes with my Work Sharp knife and tool sharpener to get it back to where I want. However that is still a lot more often than what you are implying with your sharpen monthly, hone weekly, strop daily recommendation. If that is what you are find based on your use, then either you're not using your knives very much or very hard, or your knives are simply much better steel than mine.

I have the work sharp upgrade to the 2. So often because it's so automatic to you professionals, you move too fast for us to see the micro details of what you're doing, such as; when you disconnect the top guides, you do it so fast I don't see what you're doing so there needs to be a special segment short as it may be how to disconnect the guides so I can sharpen the gut hook on the upgraded to model.

Chromium oxide (green compound), either as a bar, or as a powder, and you can mix some mineral oil to create a paste.
