Unusually, the countdown timer of a bonus or Chansey pick seems to only start when you log in. Whenever I check, it's always at exactly 30 or 60 minutes. This could mean that when an event pick is available, it's "stored" until your next log in, or there's some other nebulous mechanic in play that causes that.

I've been checking the app every so often, and so far I've got 3 Bulbasaurs and 1 Magnemite. I've used the Chansey picks because the 1/5 chance seemed really unfair to me. I've clicked like 20 free picks and only got 1 Bulbasaur (I received other non promo cards too). In total I had like 5 Chansey picks, but missed 2 of them because I didn't have enough stamina, and I wasn't going to spend gold for that. Bear in mind that free picks will also give you watches, so the Chansey picks are easier. While doing Chansey only at the last few days seems optimal, I feel more comfortable with this strategy, since I make sure that I have the cards early and then have some peace of mind later on. I'll be doing normal Wonder Picks again soon when I get the last Magnemite

I got 30 promos from the first wonder pick, evenly split 15 each of Chansey and Meowth. Every time I saw a Chansey Pick, I did it, using Wonder hourglasses and even Poke Gold. I made a binder with all 30 cards in it and now that’s become my goal for this wonder pick as well.

So far I have 3 Bulbasaur, 2 Magnemite, 3 shop tickets and 2 wonder hourglasses from opening 2 Chansey picks, 8 Bonus Picks. I suggest using the Chansey picks as soon as you see them. You will likely recover at least some of the stamina via hourglasses from the Bonus picks (if you are not sitting on a bunch anyway). It makes zero sense to let a Chansey pick expire if you don't already have the cards. That is bad advise IMO no matter how early in the event it is. Once you have the cards you want, then and only then let them go by but not before. Bird in the hand and all.

I use Chansey picks only when the ratio is 4:1 with a card I'm missing, that's how I got my first Promo Bulbasaur

IMO, I disagree with the idea of not using Chansey Picks at the start of the event (13:24). Given the missions want 2 of each promo to get rewards, combined with the total number of event tickets needed to get everything in both parts of the event, the more chances at promos & event tickets, the BETTER. RN, I have 1 of each promo, the current cover, backdrop & display board item obtained, & 12 event tickets banked toward the second ½ of the event. [EDIT: Just got my 2nd Magnemite via Chansey Pick. Have 2x of both promos now, 16 event tickets stockpiled for redemption once part 2 goes live. 💪🏅]

I got enough tickets to clear shop last event without even completing the missions. Some of these promo collect missions only give you *1 ticket*. Logging in frequently for more bonus pick is key as there are plenty more tickets there. If you don't want to login frequently that's a different story. Chansey pick maybe your assistance to exchange shop tickets.

@Bropenings Working anywhere from 8 to 12 hrs a day, 5 to sometimes 7 days a week, I take advantage of every opportunity to make whatever progress I can in what I play. If that means completing a mission "only worth 1 currency," then that's a currency toward current rewards or future, depending on when you ask me. [As of this reply, I have 18 event tickets banked towards part 2 & have 2x of each promo card plus all the current available rewards purchased. Feels good, man.] I'd argue, anecdotally, that the Bonus Picks seemed more frequent in the Meowth event than this event. I didn't make a list of times, spreadsheet, etc. so ppl will likely overlook that observation. However, I stand by it.

Event went live, bought all the additional rewards, AND I got 12 of the max 20 shinedust purchases made. Didn't need to rely on mission objective completion to get event tickets right off. Any other completions go straight to shinedust. Strike first. Strike hard. No mercy.

Rng is involved. On average about 1 per day, meaning some days it's 2-3 on the same day. but some days could be 0 for a few days.

First 5 won easy against 2 psychic, then 2 water, 1 fire so the consecutive win was done in only 21 mins since the start of the event. The rest was all different and I beat so many including fighting with my pika ex deck. I only lost to 1 Mewtwo decks due to a bad misplay and 1 starmie ex due to a bad draw. Here's my recipe simple and quick and easy with 18/20 Pika ex deck for event: Blitzle x2 Zebratrike ×2 Pika ex x2 Zapdos ex x2 Sabrina x2 Giovanni x1 Potion x2 X speed x2 Red cars x1 PokeBall x2 Professor research x2

Should on average be 1 every 2 hours. Depends on how often you check and how how you're checking for per day. So an average person I'd expect about 6-7 per day.
