I have two returns, a main big one in the hall and a second tiny 12x12 in the master bedroom. My question is it necessary place a filter in my bedroom even though I have a filter in the hallway? thanks
@FieldGuidetoDIY2 жыл бұрын
Actually yes. Ideally they draw at the same rate and the size is the difference but you may find one clogs quicker than the other. Thanks so much for watching!

Friend, half your video is fantastic: changing the filter is concise and clear. The second half is not good information. You stated one month. This depends on the amount of dirt, the size of the filter, and the frequency of the fan use. Some can go twelve months, just as a 4-inchx36x24. In fact it could go years in a clean environment where the fan is not used frequently. The mask's makes a good point, but "one month" is misinformation. Maybe you could do a follow up with this that is as great as your first half of the video. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for watching. Thank you also for commenting. I like the idea of a follow up video. Since making this video, I’ve also learned that the trapped particulate also plays a role in filtering additional particulate. Coming soon. Thanks again!

Visually, how dark should I let it get before changing it?
@FieldGuidetoDIY Жыл бұрын
Great question. Being that the dust trapped actually helps filter, you should replace it when it is pulling particles through the filter or when the system is straining. So if you see NO exposed filter, definitely replace it. I’d suggest every quarter based on usage. Thanks so much for watching.

I can go 3 months or even 4. Mine aren't even near that dirty in 3 months. I think it's because I have 3 and they're way bigger than that

Wait I am sorry once a month? My lord I am fina die

In less dusty environments you need to change it less frequently.

Debatable. 3 months is sufficient for myself. Never have i had a clogged filter.

Good to hear. I have been told that some filters actually increase effectiveness as they clog. I just think it causes an extra strain on the HVAC motor. I appreciate you sharing your experience. Thanks for watching.
