How often should you water plants? Gardening in Australia 🌱🪴

We garden in Ireland and it has been a rainy summer so far this year. We use watering cans to water the pots and flowerbeds. We have only watered the flowerbeds three times so far this year and the pots of flowers get watered twice a week.
