Showers: when I was in my late 20s - 30s; when I worked a full time job plus worked horses 5-6 days a week; I sure did NEED to shower every day. Now that I’m 69 1/2, disabled from a type of stroke that is fatal 70% of the time (luckily a rarer type of stroke), am retired and still trying to learn to walk again, it’s fine if I shower every 2 or 3 days. So when “SHOULD people shower”? Depends. As you get older, you realize that “it depends” is frequently the “correct” answer.

I shower every other day. On the days i dont shower, i wash in strategic places with baby wipes. I wash my hair once or twice a week. Ive found my skin and hair seem healthier. My dry scalp is gone and i no longer have little flakes on my clothes. My skin is in better condition too.

@ameliarose47
@ameliarose47 3 ай бұрын
@@MaliUrumI haven't really heard anyone outside this comment section talking about the effects on skin, but I've heard that with hair if you wash it less frequently it stops getting as oily so if you get through the "awkward" phase of it being super greasy when you first start spacing out hair washings it gets progressively better and it's popular now to not wash hair every day. So if your feeling weird stems from a social stigma, don't. The hair is a fairly popular thing and I'm sure you'll be able to find info about it being better for skin too.

Barber here, TO NOT HAVE TO WASH YOUR HAIR EVERY DAY: stop washing your hair every day. When your hair is used to being washed every day, your hair/scalp can overcompensate and produce oils faster. For a month, wash your hair every 3-5 days, or go as long as you can. Don't wet your hair either- wetting without washing makes your hair look greasy because it surfaces the oils. Use dry shampoo if you must. Sweat coming from your head will most likely not smell- just be sure to wash your face and the rest of your body. (Ask a friend if you smell from not washing your hair.) I'm very confident that after this month you'll be able to go 2-3 days without washing it. Go 4-5 days here and there.

Dry shampoo can be dagerous if not washed right next day. I would say wash your scalp whenever it's oily. We have hormones and sometimes it can couse sebum overproduction. I would not advice anybody to just hold off from washing hair when it's visable that they need to be cleaned. And if the sebum production is sevire I would advice to go see your doctor. I wash my hair every single day, and they are fine with it ;)

It is so hard to get people to check up their hearing. They are like "I hear okay why should I get it checked up"but like...if you can't hear something how can you know that there is something you dont hear? We should check up our hearing just like we check our sight,get bloodwork done etc .We take our hearing for granted tbh but hearing loss is terrible. You become very isolated like in conversation but also in everyday life. @@happytrails699 i know how you feel. For 4 years they told me nothing was wrong with me. Some inferred and some out right told me it was all in my head. Now i have finally found a Dr that has looked at the whole picture and finally admitted that 'yes' something is obviously wrong as i am so sick and in pain most of the time. It took all of that time and multitudes of doctors to find one that would finally 'hear' me and stop looking at the labs long enough to realize that I was sick, no matter what the labs said.

About the showering thing: I had a chest catheter for about a year and was hyper paranoid about getting it wet, per my doctors instructions. I did wash my hair in the sink, used deodorant, and practice daily hygiene on problem areas. And to be fair I live in a cool climate where it’s between 40 and 60 degrees every day and was also not able to go to the gym or do much that got my heart rate up. That said, I did not have an actual shower with the splashing water et al for an entire year, and was absolutely fine. You can absolutely make it a judgement call when you need to do it or not.

Might be ear wax build up. I had that issue for all of college, asked my dad who is a doctor. Clean your ears out with hydrogen peroxide (thanks dude who corrected me). Hold the stuff in your ear for 10 minutes, and then flush the wax with water. The wax will soften, and get flushed out. For me it took 40 minutes, as I never washed my ear wax out for like 20 years. It was very hard.

When I hurt my knee and went to the doctor, he had me using a support sleeve instead of a brace for similar reasons, and my knee has really stabilized. I don't need to use the sleeve all that often anymore. And yes, I did keep up with the physical therapy. Avoided surgery, too.
@jordancolemere9634

I am a physical therapist and the sturdy braces are for very short periods where stability is compromised. Not always worn either in most cases. Worn mostly when standing or doing activities, however is taken off when not active. But like I said. Short term is the use for those. Some steered you wrong in its use and you suffered for it. But healthier joint need sleeves like the other poster mentioned. The sleeves allow all of the structures in a joint to engage.

to all the people saying "I live in a hot climate, I _do_ have to shower daily" great! you just confirmed that it is dependent on your personal needs! He didn't mention climate specifically, but if you are sweating a lot (like if you were exercising) then yeah you should probably shower. But If you live in a nice, mild climate or if you stay in air conditioning all day, you're probably safe to skip a day or two. Pretty sure the entire point of that segment was to dismiss the idea that _everyone_ everywhere needs to shower every day. Sometimes you do, like when you are living in a hot climate or are physically active every day. but the rest of us don't.
