Hey mate, awesome explanation you got there especially with helping us understand the texture urethane vs polyaspartic. I’ve been a subscriber for over a year now and have watched most of your videos (liked them too) even though you mentioned about the squeegees and rolller in various occasions I haven’t found a video explaining about them in detail. So I would really appreciate if could spend some time to put together a video on the different types of squeegee you use notched vs flat, which one for prime/base/top coat. The nap of the roller and why you prefer certain things over the other. Also edging do we need to squeegee all the way to the wall or will a small roller/paint brush will do. In a line marking video of yours I came across a wonderful explanation on how to properly put tape. A question regarding that is do you use tapes which have sharp edges or normal ones. Hope you would consider this request. Thanks wish you have a bright future with the sales of your products.

How well do it hold up to welding sparks?
@ConcreteFloorSolutions
@ConcreteFloorSolutions 2 жыл бұрын
There is NO epoxy or polyaspartic floor designed to withstand molten metal. use a welding blanket to protect the floor when welding. Epoxy. / polyaspartic is like plastic and will melt.

Hi Jason have watched most of your videos would you mind answering a few questions when you say that the Polyaspartic is 10mm thick but across the screen it says 30mm which is it never looks like its going down so thick also if you were to try using a car trolley jack would it damage the coating and also turning the steering in your car. Regards Dianne sorry if they are stupid questions.
@ConcreteFloorSolutions

For the record, I said 10 Mil (10 thousandths of an inch) NOT 10 mm (3/8ths of an inch). 1 mil equals 1 thousandth of an inch. Mil and millimeter are different measurements. The topcoat is 10 mils thick, each of the two coats underneath is 10 mils each also, it is a total of 30 mils. You are correct it is not going down that thick. Not a stupid question, if you didn’t know, now you do. So yes, you can roll trolley jacks over the floor and it will not damage it.

Black CFS - 1C Polyaspartic. You just need to make sure you tape very well so the material does not wick underneath the tape. concretefloorsolutions.com/store/polyaspartics/cfs-1c-polyaspartic/

I don't understand why the author of the video did not use a surface roughness meter to precisely measure the amount of surface roughness of the finish of polyaspartic vs. Polyurea. In terms of chemical resistance, the material specification sheet should provide details that will be very informative versus the novice test of used motor oil only. My recommendation is to post the material specification sheets so that those who want to know more about the product have access to that information produced from the manufacturer of the product.

@@ConcreteFloorSolutions it's very difficult to qualitatively discuss surface roughness. If you purchase a surface roughness meter, then you will have a comparison and be very accurate with regard to relative differences in surface roughness between polyurea and polyaspartic. One thing you might consider doing, is to bring samples of your different products over to the Materials Science Department of Lehigh University and talk to the department head regarding instrumentation and differences from an engineering standpoint on the different products that you apply. I'm sure they would be delighted to assist a small local business with technical matters.

@frankie7508 I think you are taking a garage floor a level too seriously. If you can tell the difference from one coating to another then hillbilly math works just fine. These floors are each a little different depending on how many times you scrape the floor, how much chip you put on, the thickness of the basecoat even changes how the floor will end up because it will hold the flake different. You don't need an engineering degree to install one of these floors.

You can, it would not be recommended in freezing climates, and can get slippery when it's wet. So you want to make sure you add texture.
