It’s so heartbreaking to see a game that once took so much skill at the top level amount the game that it is in the present day. I feel so cheated by supercell for hooking me to a game that was once so beautiful just to tear it apart.

Yeah, back when the first 20wins comes out, everything we're balanced. You can play lava, hog, logbait, 3 mus, golem, giant, x bow, miner...All have a chance to win. Now without evo or Stain, you are cooked..

Like the 3 musk, pump deck or pekka bridgespam deck or golem nightwitch deck or hog 2.6 cycle. There are only like 5 to 6 decks that's viable in the game. At least now because of new evolutions and op cards constantly being added to the game even though there are some meta decks there isn't enough time for them to monopolize the entire game without a new evolution or a card disrupting the meta every month.

Tencent are primarily to blame, they have monetised the game to death - champions + evos are a key component of that. Imagine if a scummy company like EA owned Supercell, it would be exactly like this... broken overpowered cards each month, linked with direct purchases. The game used to be well balanced in comparison, it's genuinely sad. On ladder i remember years ago you'd face every type of deck, and there was an element of skill in mastering every matchup - this simply isn't the case any more - you mainly need to learn "damage limitation" against the super broken cards

Back then, yes, there's a meta deck, but it is far more balanced than nowadays. No one can play a brain-dead recruit back, evo pekka back, and not get punished back then. We have to really think and work on damage. Now? An evo bomber/cracker, the bridge and boom we fudged.🥲

the problem with stein is it does EVERYTHING. its a win condition. its a decent defensive card, its got a tank and a mini tank, its got an ability that takes out medium health swarms, its got a stun effect. the only abilities they didnt give goblinstein is an inferno tower effect, knockback, healing, and a shield.

I get that supercell wants people to use the new cards so that they upgrade them and people learn to use the card, but this cycle of stale meta decks with every new card sucks. It’s fun for three days, but then the novelty of a new card wears off and it gets frustrating playing against the same mindless decks over and over and over again.

What I learnt: Goblinstein has synergy with countless archetypes. Goblinstein, unlike other win conditions, also damages and even kills the cards played to defend it. Goblinstein has no "bad placements" on the map; played at the river is not necessarily a bad strategy. Goblinstein is powerful on defense AND offense, encouraging impulsive gameplay. Personal gripes: Overtuned HP on the Scientist, overtuned range on the Scientist.

hi hunter... as an og, ive def seen you rage before, but those are one-vdeo rages due to the occasional e-golem deck... thats how i know the stein problem is serious when you've gone on about it for multiple vids. I once thought that clash was getting better, because of the new dev team additions. The balance changes were amazing, but the new releases (stein/dart gob evo) just destroy any notion of that lol. PRO TIP from a arena 19 (high midladder) player: abuse dart gob evo when it comes out before its nerfed to the floor once again, great vid btw. rlly hilarious 4:45 the english is ACTUALLY IMPROVINGGGG (followed by hunter saying re-pruh-cussions tho)

The problem with goblinstein is that it does everything and it does it good. Attack that resets troops, a tank, a ranged unit, a high attack AOE, a win condition, and a support all at the same time is just not healthy for one card to do.

They should make it impossible to pop once the monster dies. The doctor is just impossible to kill bc he stays so far back and then shreds everything in the lane. They could probably revert a nerf or two, maybe the monster hp nerf, and just make it so that stick doesn't stay in the ground after monster dies

It has to be deck-dependent. I play old school mortarbait (no champs) and can counter it pretty easy with a knight and gob gang. Sure, stab gobs die, but knight lives and i get a counter push with it with spear gobs.
