Sir, I have a query. In ONGC recruitment for example OBC Category has 5 vacancies and Genaral category has 10 vacanies.A person(OBC category person) in the final merit list of ONGC got 65 marks out of 100. In his category, he is the 6 the person according to the merit list. So he won't get selected through his category because ONGC has only 5 vacancies in the OBC category. But, if we compare his marks in the GENARAL category he stood in 8th place out of 10 vacanies. Will he get selected In ONGC under the general category sir? AND Sir will this procedure be applicable for (or)followed by all psu(maharatnas, navaratnas and miniratna companies )?

There are no vacancies for General Category. It's called "unreserved". Anyone in the merit list irrespective of category can be in merit list of unreserved. So yes, he will be selected in unreserved.
