@divaofthedamned3654 ай бұрын
You need a service dog because of "generational trauma"?? I call bs so hard. It's perceived trauma you've never went through but want to bandwagon off of because you want to be apart of something. If we used your logic, every single person on this planet would have "generational trauma" because every single group of people have been; subjugated, enslaved, and persecuted for one thing or another. Just because someone's family has served their country for multiple generations doesn't mean their children will have PTSD. . If that's the case then all of China should be traumatized after what Mao and the CCP did to the Chinese people in 1958, yet the people who survived through generations of starvation, extermination, and brutality like you can't imagine continued to have families and lives. The Chinese people instead focus on other countries who they feel have wronged them like Japan and Taiwan. Why? Because it's not inherited, it's taught by the CCP. Just like racism, sexism, and being a victim - it's a taught and learned behavior, not one given at birth. . . . I honestly don't believe people like you even study the history you go on and on about. Please try looking at world history from across ALL of human history instead of nitpicking the facts that fit your narrative. Yet people like you are so quick to tell others to "educate yourselves" and then follow it up with "it's not my job to educate you" because you don't know what you're talking about and CAN'T educate those with legitimate questions and facts they bring to your attention.

Many of my service dog handler friends were actually ROBBED and STOLEN from while they were passed out in various public places. It doesn't matter if it's a joke kids will take it seriously and we already have enough problems as it is with the public. I have a service dog too. If you can, try to dye their tail (they have dye made for dogs, of course) some type of identifying color. They're much more less likely to get snagged. Not saying they don’t exist, but I tend to think of those who are decent people irl as more the exception than the rule. Okay, a thought: I know Jayus has ADHD, I do too, but if content creation is your JOB, and part of that job is collaborating with other creators or helping along brand deals, shouldn't you try to be on the up and up with it? Don't get me wrong, I understand executive dysfunction and forgetting things, I struggle with that at work as well, but like at least give Aunt Karen an update. Say something like 'hey, things are crazy rn, I'm so sorry, give me some time and I'll get this together' or if you can't do the collabs anymore, explain yourself. If you can't be on the up and up, ask your managerial team to set up an away message or have THEM email Aunt Karen. I don't entirely know what managerial teams do, but I feel like that makes sense.

I would say the it's not so much an "ADHD thing" and the path to overcoming a bad upbringing being made more difficult by ADHD. So, if OnlyJayus has a childhood where racism was explicit and condoned, they may have developed mental schema where in different situations they were taught to believe the appropriate response was racism. So, they leave that environment, and learn that racism is bad but there's a problem their brain wouldn't have the same explicit "no go zone" around that is programmed into most of us as small children. So, now onlyjayus knows that racism is bad but still has the mental schema subconsciously suggesting that racism as an option but hasn't yet got "no go zone". This means Onlyjayus needs to be consciously of the possibility their schema is going to lead them down the racism track, needs to remember the situations that might trigger that response, needs to have the presence of mind to avert racist disaster, and actually stop themselves before the disaster has already happened. Honestly, with someone of OnlyJayus's background I wouldn't be surprised if they're slipping up a whole bunch in their private life, possibly not even realising they're saying stuff offensive unless it's pointed out because they've basically go to deprogram themselves and that is HARD. We'd like to believe that there's a little switch in our brain racism: good/bad we can switch at will, but that's not how it works and it's a lot of work to do when you're in your 20's, particularly when you've had a sh*t time of it.
