Can I connect several boards (collecting data from different subjects) to the same computer/server? Will I be able to distinguish data from subject A, B and C?

I’m really excited about the work you guys are doing with Valve’s next generation HTC console! Eventually we should Not only have the option to navigate a virtual gaming environment and control an in-game avatar entirely cerebrally, we should also be able to control home appliances cerebrally as well!

First promo video I saw told me I can get the Ganglion for $100, but less than a year later it's $250 Then add the smallest headset for another $199, (which is essentially a strip of material and 4 sensors, yep $199) and you're still claiming that every student will have their own system to use in class. The price of going open source doesn't appear to as cheap as you claim. I'm with others, I'd love to buy and play with a system like this, develop something cool, but it appears us developers are the ones paying the price, while you repeatedly take the credit for opening up the market and lowering prices. So my question, when will we see these prices becoming affordable to all?

Keeping the business going (healthcare, rent, R&D, free software) takes more than the BOM for a single board. We're one of the few (but not only) neurotech companies that publicly shares all our hardware designs. github.com/OpenBCI/V3_Hardware_Design_Files -- you are always welcome to create your own board, and get help from our forums from other DIY makers who used our designs.

I agree, OpenBCI is overly expensive and not so open as they claim to be.

@@despareint the “low-cost” bio sensing starter kit in their website is now 884.99$, it’s crazy, how am i supposed, as a student/private researcher, to afford that

@@pietrocapelli3947 it feels like Apple to me, they need funding for RnD but that doesn't mean they should charge an outrageous amount for simple stuff. Mark V can no way cost them half of what they're charging.

Do BCI products offer eeg and ecg data only? Nothing for nero/transcranial stimulation? Or do you just provide the equipment?

I read it as “how much background noise”😅 maybe because of the music
@kamilerastene52753 жыл бұрын
I guess it depends on what you want to play around with. There's a how-to page on OpenBCI on how to isolate your first brainwave, so I'd say the first thing you need is a knack fiddling around with tech and a willingness to dive into literature as appropriate. Having some programming skills is a plus, so is having some knowledge about how the brain is structured. Then again, if you are pondering whether you should buy it or not, better first do some reading/research about neuroscience and see if the field is exciting to you, because if you are not motivated by the field and by learning itself, it's probably not worth it.
