Billy is right. People in the 40s were coming off a decade of the Great Depression right into a world war and rationing. Not comparable to the Iraq war in the slightest

If he would’ve just stated that it is a good deterrent for the largest economies in the world to not go to war with each other, allowing for progress within your country. There wouldn’t be much push back, he just kept bringing up examples that aren’t exactly correlated so it caused push back

Billy's mind is created to trick himself every 5 minutes. He is more accumulated to be in a straight quinon podcast, so when he talks about conspiracies as much as he does actual facts that come out of his mouth are kind of not taking seriously. He is a smart kid though, and I think pft letting him ramble in moments is his way of showing that he respects his points.

To Billy's point: why haven't India and Pakistan gone to war with each other yet, despite their incredibly close hostility? Why didn't the USSR invade Western Europe, or the US invade Eastern Europe? Historically, powerful nations and empires do not just simply stop expanding when they bump up against one another; they always tried to expand and become more powerful. The nuclear option has forced these large, powerful empires (including the Cold War era Us) to pause, which allows society at home to progress, and for cooler heads to prevail long term.

they all have found billy as the easy target since the show started. it’s actually infuriating to listen to arian belittle billy the entire episode when he’s actually making good points and did research on the subject. arian just hops on to every episode without doing significant research and plays all this bullshit moral high ground like saying how we don’t know how many more people would’ve died if we didn’t drop the bomb. pft just agrees with whatever arians take is and teams up against billy. billy might not be able to articulate what he wants to say well but in this case he was speaking facts.

@@udcorySo if you’re at the top of any given field which can only last about 3 years, and you’re being told you can’t be paid your actual market value for 1 of those years, are you just going to roll over and accept it because you consider yourself lucky? Nonsense, you’ve worked harder than anybody to become that great and you’ll want to be paid in accordance to your value especially since that value won’t last long enough to make up that difference in the future. Siding with greedy owners who practically have no risk year to year is a very strange stance
@udcory
@udcory Жыл бұрын
No.. I'm not saying the franchise tag is a great thing. It may eventually go away, and that may be for the better. I'm essentially just saying, Arian is acting as if an elite player is getting paid pennies, when in reality the pay is very high, compared to almost every other player. I think he's overreacting to how "horrible" it is.
