No it isn't. There was no such thing as Tanks, and Airplanes during Bismarck's time. Even during WW1 no one could have thought of Blitzkrieg because tactics for the Airforce and the use of Tanks were pretty primitive, and would also be impossible to do with such primitive tanks.

A little wrong as at 4:37, Bismark actually did not want Alasce and Lorraine as he knew it would make the French hate Germany even more and would pit Germany with another enemy in a later war (which it did in ww1), he believed not gaining these regions would be better as it would make the French see Germany in a more thankful light (reparations are nothing compared to land loss), or at the very least more forgiving. He actually wanted the war just to unite the German states into a mutual conflict which would help in unification (which it did as we can see). Also u didn't mention the Spanish succession crisis at all for the beginning of the war. As well, at 6:03, u didn't mention Fredrick's short rule. Yes it was very short and uneventful, I still believe he deserved at least a short mention, it would take only 5 seconds anyways if u mention him as being short ruled.

He is an anti-German/Prussia lying propagandist it very much seems like. I got to add that Alsace and Lorraine were completly German thus making them a German state as well somewhat (except not being an independent state but chained to the french government). The french originally invaded and annexed Alsace + Lorraine in the 17th century. But tried many times already before that.

I think Fredrick's rule is absolutely worth mentioning. Bismarck had been grooming and playing favorites with Fredrick for a while before he became emperor so Bismarck would stay on the good side of the emperor. But unfortuantely Fredrick died shortly after becoming emperor leaving Wilhelm II.

Of all the mistakes in the video I think the one that bothers me most is the one around 4:10 - 4:20 . Yes, Bismarck's diplomacy would have been pretty pointless without an army that could win wars. But Bismarck's diplomacy guaranteed that they didn't have the fight any unnecessary enemies. He kept France neutral until the Franco-Prussian war, he convinced Austria to join Prussia in the invasion of Schleswig-Holstein. He made France the agressor in the Franco-Prussian war which ensured that ther would be no international rebutal again Prussia/Germany. He convinced Moltke and Wilhelm not to march on Vienna after the Astro-Prussian war to ensure that the Austrians weren't too pissed at Prussia after the war. He was even against a German controlled Alsace-Lorraine, because he knew how much tention it would cause between the two countries. So Moltke's and von Roon's military ability would have been just as useless without Bismarck. Cause it doesn't matter how good you are if you are fighting againt literally everybody at the same time, which is what Bismarck prevented.

A genius statesman and leader.

This video should be redone to not me hot air history. Denmark technically declared war on Prussia, that didn't stop Prussia from testing out new weaponry. Bismarck did not "decide" that Austria and Prussia were not friends anymore, instead, Prussia wanted to declare a German state which Austria disapproved of, so Austria declared war on Prussia, they won because they had superior weaponry such as the bottom barrel loaded rife which allowed soldiers to prone, better command and strategies. Bismarck did not invent the "blitzkrieg" in fact, he has little to do with the strategical decisions in the war you're talking about Moltke. Two things wrong first, blitzkrieg does not describe war such as the Prussians did, by modern definition Blitzkrieg requires mechanized troops. Second, Blitzkrieg is a propaganda myth from the west, it's just normal modern war, an indirect quote from the OKW of Germany. France was under pressure because the next king of Spain would be part of the Prussian house, which was why they could Provoke France, how did you fail to mention that?

Good comment but as a side note: Austria didnt dissaprove of a German state in general but simply dissaproved of the fact that Prussia was trying to form it and was trying to be the main power. Sentiments among the Austrian public and its government to form an united German state were very high but they wanted the other German states to follow their conditions including Prussia and wanted to be the main power in it ruling with their royal house. But on the other side they also didnt want to give up their non-German territories and gift them to Hungary which most likely would have been the consequence when forming a united German state with them. Its a very complex topic.

You should do one on Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour; AKA the Italian Bismarck. In addition to his political scheming, one notable thing he would do is hold diplomatic negotiations in airless rooms with either no windows or ones that could not be opened, with the temperature always slightly too warm, AFTER having eaten/while eating garlicky food (or sometimes just plain garlic). This combined with his intimidating size meant he typically got what he wanted in these negotiations, and got it rather quickly.

Two minor thing you forgot. In the battle for Schleswig-Holstein Bismarck and Austria split it. But after some time Bismarck just took over the whole. Because of this act of war the whole "deutscher bund" (all member states of the split now Germany) declared war on Bismarck. After Bismarck invaded Austria and won he didn't want anything from them. This lead to a really strong relationships between Prussia and Austria-Hungary.

Wilhelm II didn't force Bismarck into retirement. That's a lie to make him look bad. Bismarck did it himself because Wilhelm wouldn't give him that much power. So Bismarck was triggered and left like a pissed little child. And by the way: Wilhelm II was a good Emperor. He did many good things for the German people. He introduced things like the 8 hour working day, he abolished child labor etc. (things that Bismarck didn't want!). He even said: “I would rather be king of the beggars, than king of the rich“. And most importantly: *Wilhelm II didn't start WW I.* I don't know how this is still a thing but people should know it's a lie! A few days before the war Wilhelm II even wrote a letter to the Russian Tsar Nikolaus II, begging him to “not mobolize his troops because he wouldn't want to be given the responsibility for the worst war that the world had ever seen“ as he said it himself. Wilhelm II was a good Emperor, if not the best. I hate it when people without knowledge try to make him look bad. (I'm don't mean this channel btw) Wilhelm II actually cared about his people.

The main reason why the Prussians won their war with Austria is their use of new breach loading rifles. The Austrians were still mainly using muzzle loaders. Not only could Prussian soldiers load their rifles quicker, they could also load their 'Dreyse Needle gun' (Zündnadelgewehr) lying down, a significant advantage over the Austrians.

You should of mentioned how he called Germany losing world war 1 before it even started. He told William the Third that he would lose his crown in a great European war that he would lose 20 years after his death. He was off by 4 months. He also described Europe as a armory and the nation's of Europe as men in sed armory with lit cigars. He also said the next great war would "be started by some damn fooled thing in the bulkens."

Bismarck hasnt invented the Blitzkrieg tactic... To make it simple: Blitzkrieg is an very offensive war tactic involving all military branches like Air Force, Navy, armoured vehicles and soldiers on foot at the same time working together against one main target (which was back then in ww1/ww2 something completly new and innovative). Its also about suprising the enemy, thus lowering their morale and as a consequence making them capitulate. So you see this can only be done when A: invading the enemy country thus suprising them and B: Air Force was essential. But since Bismarck/Prussia wasnt invading France but France was invading Germany, nor has there been any Air Force back then as Bismarck was alive, or many different military branches that are needed as well, Bismarck couldnt have been the one to invent the Blitzkrieg tactic. I think Prussia wasnt attacking any country with their military back then(so couldnt really launch a suprise attack attacking their enemy off-guard), I think they(Danes, Austria, France) all were starting the wars against Prussia/Germany, but Prussia/Germany just won them. Historians claim that the Blitzkrieg tactic has been invented shortly before or during ww1, which also makes sense . And you dont even know what you are talking about or you have an agenda and lie purposely. You are just claiming your personal opinion to be historical facts. It seems to me that you actually have no real historical education but just know some things here and there, speculate and try to explain things to yourself in a, for your mind, logical sense but this isnt telling historical facts what this should be about. On top you bring your personal anti-German sentiments into this and mixing up completly different historical events that have no connection with one another. Simply said you are just a lying propagandist. You are simply judging things with your f'ed up mind, instead of telling historical facts and explaining a historical events with other historical facts and events(from the actual same time period) to put things into perspective for the viewer and all this should be done in an objectively neutral and logically plausible. Not constantly bringing up your xenophobic or racist views and judging event by that. You are just sounding insane and mad if you bring up ww2 and nazis when talking about OTTO VON BISMARCK who was running a complete different state with a COMPLETLY different ideology and who freaking died like 50 years prior to the start of ww2... Its just sad that people are having so much power through KZbin/Internet or that people like you are abusing this power basically lying so much and poisoning the youth with that, making people like me believe that it may would be better if KZbin wouldnt exist at all because I cant stand lying propagandists. You are simply a lying propagandists and when youre not even lying but simply are trying to tell a historical fact, I suppose because no xenophobic stereotypes/comments involved, even then you are misleading and incorrect and just badly informed which you shouldnt be when talking about a subject trying to educate other people on it. People like you are nothing better than the propagandists of countries in war times instigating hatred and thus keeping war and destruction alive. You are just a lying propagandist.
